Is Anyone Having a Theme for their Wedding?

Recommended Posts

I know most people are having beach weddings and so their whole theme/idea is based around the beach, but on top of that, is anyone doing any specific theme such as "An Evening under the Stars" or "Casino Night" or "Pirates of the Caribbean" or any other ideas out there? I'm just trying to decide if it's worth considering or not. TIA!!!

We're not really doing a "theme," but our inspiration is indie/retro/glam. I know that's kinda vague and maybe doesn't seem to go together, but I think it will all make sense when it comes together. We're keeping everything pretty simple when it comes to decor so the only places you will really see the "theme" are in our guestbook (doing polaroids with a fun "dress up" station to take fun pics), our invites, and any of our paperwork (programs, menu cards etc).

well for those doing a wedding in the carribean or such, a beach is generally the theme so i think most of us have that theme. But going the etra mile to create a theme on top of that, we opted not to, as we wanted to keep expenses down. So we have beachy themed OOT bags, our invites/RSVP, etc...the general stuff.

No theme, really, for the wedding...besides being in a tropical paradise of course wink.gif

We are, however, having a theme for our AHR. We are having it in a barn type building, with lots of wild flowers, old mason jars, candles everywhere, a country/bluegrass/rock band, low country boil and lemonade, etc... Kind of a southern rustic theme.

KatyKo.. I love that idea! We aren't having an AHR - but since we are getting legally married bf we get to DR and FGIL (Future Grandma In Law) is too elderly to travel and my sister is too bcensored.giftchy to attend in DR - they will be out witnesses. Then we are all headed back to my house for a country themed bbq (bc I am a transplanted country girl in the city) with my bridal party and any other friends that want to hang.

As far as our wedding goes, our theme is the beach too!!! Casual, relaxed tropical fun vibe!

Our decor and invitations are centered around our "lime" theme. FI really loves limes (limeade, lime sherbert, lime anything) and since limes are everywhere in Mexico, it made it easy! Our color is green and our centerpieces will have limes in the vase. Not hard and it seems to really pull everything together!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
