Hello to you all!

I'm getting married May 7th at Dreams Puerto Adventuras in Mexico and have a good number of friends waiting for last minute deals on vacation packages. Not too big of a deal expect that cost wise it's making it a bit trickier to figure out our costs for 'potential' extra people. Anyone else had/has this issue? Can you recommend anything to keep a girl from panicking about last minute rising costs?

Thanks!

I'm having the same issue. I'm getting married at the Dreams in Nuevo Vallarta and the package only covers up to 20 guests and any other guest will be an extra expense.

I was really panicking about this, but my FI and I decided not to stress about it and we created an emergency fund in case we have 3 to 4 procrastinators in the group.

I'm just happy to know that people are coming to share the time with us and paying for their dinner is the least I can do. As for the favor and OOT bags I'm buying for up to 30 guest (I'm sure we won't even get close to that number), so all the extras I'll send to those that weren't able to make it for a legit reason.

Not sure if this helps... but all I can recommend is to estimate for the worst possible case scenario and have an emergency fund.

Ummm yeah. My freaking father did this to me. censored.gif I was so stressed out about it... I started thinking of how the ceremony would be if he didn't make it.

My aunt and her daughter also did this. Told me about their tickets 1 week before the wedding.

Ultimatelyt here's not much you can do. I managed to make them OOT bags, but if people want to wait that long, they can't really expect much, KWIM?

I am getting married in 5 weeks and I still have members of my bridal party waiting to get that last minute deal. They assured me that they are coming so I am leaving it in their hands. As for other guests, I still have about 10 people who are not sure if they will come or not. I personally am one of those people who wait until the last minute for travel so I understand but it is hard to plan without hard numbers. I figure everything will work out in the end!

People are doing this, but I've managed to convince everybody that really *needs* to be there to book in advance. I don't blame them for holding out on good deals though. Our resort is on serious sale but the current travel dates for the sale are through the end of April. So I know folks are waiting to see if they'll extend it through May in the coming weeks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
