How much are your guests paying?

Recommended Posts

I am getting married at The Royal (adult only) in Playa del Carmen. Some of the guests are staying there and others are staying right next door at the sister property The Gran Porto Real (kid friendly)

The Royal: $2300.00

Gran Porto: $2000.00

Both of these include: Flight, 4 nights/5days at the resort (AI), tranfers to and from the resort,  and all come with an oceanview room.

I think we got a pretty good deal!! I have a travel agent and she booked us thru a group package with GOGO Vacations.

We are getting married at the Paradisus Punta Cana, an all inclusive gorgeous resort. Our guests are paying $219 per night based on double occupancy in a standard Deluxe Jr Suite. Most guests are going 3-4 nights. I haven't heard too many complaints regarding the rates for the resort, it's the flights that are pricey since I'm getting married on a Friday and that means they will need to fly out mid-week which is more expensive than weekend flights as there are fewer options.

We have guest coming from all over Canada so the price ranges all over the place.

For 7 nights, flight, hotel at AI they are paying anywhere from $1800-$2900pp. The price we got via our Travel Agent was about $500 less then you would if you booked online. . For peak season this isn't a bad price I thought.

I totally agree with this. I think you get a lot of people at regular weddings that are there to taste the food and then get out....whereas a DW is such a longer affair that you can't help but relax and get to know each other!

i have been to a few destination weddings which is why i really wanted to have one. Spending a week with everyone is a great experience for everyone and at the end of the week your guests will have met so many good friends who they would never have the opportunity to meet

We are using a travel agent for Secrets Maroma Beach Resort

3 nights all inclusive double occupancy with flights runs about $1200 per person with transfers and insurance.

We didn't really get any grief about pricing...but some guests were unable to attend because it was a bit steep for them...but we expected this to happen so no big deal.

Hey, we have just started looking at resorts, but are considering the RIU as well, that is a great deal and exactly the price range we are looking for for our guests. What time of year is your wedding? Did you go through a travel agent? How much is your wedding going to cost? How many nights are they staying for?  Is that price per person or per room? Thanks for your help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
