Cancun/RM Brides~ POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies-

After much research, shopping online, since I have never been to the area (FH has about 4 times) I found that Cancun to me ended up being to Mexico what Vegas is the US. So we started to shop around, FH had taken an day trip to Isla Mujeres and found it to be quiet and a bit set back in time. So there we have it... Oct. 5, 2007 on the island, now we know that the island feel is not for everyone traveling (especially FFIL- so him and his group of guest...I beleive the count was around 5 maybe 9 total) will be staying in Cancun and coming to the island the day of the wedding... works out best anyway since his parents are divorced and his dad is remarried and an ass about things.... FMIL well.... she rocks... So she will be on isla with the remain 6-9 people. We are looking a quiet spot called Su Casa Beach Cottages

I knew we wanted the beach and the sand... something old world feel instead of a resort... with the help of a WC on the island it looks like the dream will come true..

We are looking at a sunset wedding, a trio to play durring the ceremony (civil only) then cocktails and a small fire on the beach... after photos and some dancing in the moonlite we will head off the find dinner at a restaurant (will locate and have reservations ahead of time) then soak up a bit of the nightlife...while it does not have the nightlife of Cancun it will be just right for our small crew... something tells me they find fun along the way...

There are other vacation plans along the way ... but I will save you those details.

Then it is back home on the 9th and AHR on the 20th.

So happy planning to you all and please drop me a line with any questions or suggestions.

I'm still looking at the diff. wedding packages. MP is AI and does allow kids. It also has the free excursions which our parents are excited about. Good luck on you search

Hmmmm, well it is not the best time of year to travel because of hurricanes. However the chance that a hurricane actually hits the RM the week of your wedding or the week before your wedding is a lot lower than you think. I was researching this for a little while and while I dont remember the statistics the end result was that it was possible that a hurricane could hit but it wasnt probable that one would.

We decided against planning it for this time of year and just holding off untill May when the weather is almost guarenteed to be buetifull. If it was just a vacation I was planning than I would have been fine with taking the risk and booking in October BUT its a wedding and a lot of money and time goes into it not to mention the memories you will have forever. To me, it isnt worth the risk.

There are other areas however that dont get hit so often with huricanes if you are dead set on an October wedding.

Aruba for example. There are more I'm just not sure!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
