smile125.gif I'm still deciding on a place. I want something AI that allows kids but is contemporary. Since most of our friends don't act their age I want a place that also has a night life. I'm thinking about either Moon Palace or Dreams Cancun. Anybody have any other suggestionshuh.gif

Both those resorts are good. Honestly every review I read on every resort always has something negative to say about the nightlife. If I were you I would check to see how close these resorts are from town. It seems the true nightlife is in town and not at the resorts! This is just from what I have read. If you are a 10-20 minutes from town then no big deal. Tell your guests that they have the option of going in to town for some good times if they arent into the nightlife at the resort.

Hi everyone!

My name is Laura and I am newly engaged for 1 month now! SO EXCITED and yet getting overwhelmed on the planning aspect. We want to get married this summer (2007) in Cancun or Riviera Maya. I've researched a lot of the resorts in this area and all look beautiful. We are planning for about 75 people, both adults and children. Does anyone have any suggestions on all inclusive resorts that let children stay and will be wonderful for a wedding? P.S. - I love this website! What a great network and resource! :-)

After doing TONS of online research, we chose the Riu Palace Mexico. They do allow children. Some of the reasons why we chose it: price for guests was reasonable, beautiful beach, allows children, amenities, close to golf, all-inclusive (easier for guests), proximity to Playa del Carmen, beauty of the resort, EXCELLENT reviews on tripadvisor.com and other travel websites. Another thing: our guests could choose to stay at the other (more inexpensive) Riu properties in the area. Some cons: not as intimate as we wanted, wedding and reception slightly more expensive than at some all-inclusives (not an issue for us as we were more concerned with keeping the cost down for our guests, not for us), and difficulty in getting quick response from wedding coordinator there (although I've been assured by countless other Riu brides that it all comes together beautifully in the end.) My first choice was the Azul Beach Hotel, but it was going to be too expensive for our guests to stay there. However, I also looked at almost every hotel in the Riviera Maya and the Riu was the best fit for us. Congratulations and good luck in your search!

I'm getting married at Dreams Resort & Spa in Cancun, next October. I chose Dreams because I've heard that they do wonderful weddings, they allow children, the resort is not enormous, but big enough for everyone to have some privacy, & I also wanted to keep the costs down for my guests and dreams was more reasonable than a lot of the others I looked at. I have a lot of information, some of it is posted on this site, but I have more I can email you if you're interested.

I have set a date for 5/23/08 at the Catalonia Playa Maroma. I am thinking anywhere from 15-40 will show. Thought it would only be family but a ton of people have shown interest. Plus, we are going during the "low season" so it will be pretty cheap.

Picked resort because we have been to Maroma Beach before it and was amazing. Voted best beach by Travel Channel in the past. The resort we chose used to cater exclusively to Italians but has switched ownership. It is a 3-4 star. Went with it rather than a 5 star to may it more affordable for guests. Not sure where we will honeymoon after, maybe head over to Cozumel.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
