Rachel!!! Oh my I'm soo sorry I haven't checked BDW in a couple of weeks. We're in the middle of renovating our condo and work is well....lets just say i'm in the financial industry and I'm afraid of spending too much time on the internet at work lately. don't want to give the boss man a reason to let me go :) Yes I did provide my own ribbon. I brought at least 100 spools with me of various patterns in my colors and different width's. I just gave it all to landy and told her to do what she wanted. It worked out great. I had soo much ribbon she used them as napkin rings too!

As far as the Ipod goes. I only had to show up with my actual Ipod. They set up HUGE speakers and you just plug your Ipod in. The WC will ask you if you have specific songs that need to be played like first dance, mother son and father daughter dances. I just separated those into a different play list. They also give you a microphone if you would like to make speeches.

I'm soo excited for you... You leave in a couple of days!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to hear about it when you get back

1. What package did you guys end up getting?
2. What do you think you paid for the wedding/photography, etc. all together?

Any info would be great! Thanks!

Hi JMB! Thank you so much. I elected to go with the ultimate wedding package and just used the resort photographer that came with the package. I did pay an extra $350 for the CD of all the pictures he took so I could bring them home and use them as I wish. I do wish that I would have paid extra to have him stay through the reception though and take more pictures.

Make sure you check out the official Dreams Tulum thread. There is more information there than you will ever need. It's the best (in my opinion) thread on this site for resorts :)

I'm not totally sure about the exact price becasue my parents paid for everything. My father almost had a heart attack when he paid the bill because it was in pesos but I think it was around $7000 by the time we had all of the extras added in and tipping.

Yes, the activity pool and the dolphins pool are one in the same. I had my reception on the beach side of the pool which kept us out of the way of most of the other guests at the resort.

I also wanted a location that was very close to a bar and restroom. We did not have a problem at all with getting drinks all night. We were right next to the sea side grill to which is where they prepared our food for dinner too which worked out nicely. Oh and the lighting scheme in the activity/dolphins pool at night is absolutely georgous. The entire pool switches colors about every minute from purple to blue to red to yellow to green. It's just so pretty.

Hope this all helps, good luck with your planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
