GET A TA IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE ONE!!!!
Don't we need a location before we get a TA??

I had a local travel agent try and set up a room block and airfare for my guests and it was the worst experience ever. Then I joined this forum and was directed to Tammy(the host) and she was a savior for me. My suggestion is to use an experienced travel agent to negotiate a room block for you. as for pricing, my guests are flying in from Philadelphia and they are paying $1080 each with airfare for 4 nights. The flight is $462 of that price. Those flying in from Pittsburgh are paying $1180 because the flight is $562 from there.

All,

We just got our wedding date booked/confirmed there at Dreams Los Cabos and are in disbelief because a) I'd read a good amount of you getting married or booking there and doing it so far in advance (our wedding's booked for November 2007) and we just started planning and B) every other resort we asked didn't have our dates available and right off the bat wouldn't do Sunday ceremonies but Dreams has confirmed our Sunday date with us. Seemed way_too_easy. We were even looking around for reviews to see maybe if it was so easy because bad reviews caused a low point in reservations there or something but from what I've read here, it's quite a reputable place w/successful weddings for all involved.

We're waiting to hear back from Tammy regarding planning and hoping that at this point, the rest is cake mix?

We're trying to think of things we may have missed in asking the WC (Yesica) to make sure we were set on this day. The only thing I could think of is that the ceremony will most likely be held at the Gazebo as opposed to beach because another couple has 'tentatively' planned their ceremony on the beach. We can only hope that the other couple maybe gets married earlier than our pre-sunset time slot? Does anyone know of another couple married in their Gazebo? We're hoping to find some pictures.

Thanks!

Claudia

Check out Tammy's slide show on Juan Carlos' site Juan Carlos Tapia Photography. There's some great pics of the gazebo. I'd ask if the couple getting married on the beach is getting married in the usual spot on the beach. If so, it is right past the gazebo and if your weddings are at the same time, you'll be able to see you and they may be in your way of the beautiful view of the water. There are a couple of spots they do beach weddings, but usually it's out in front of the gazebo.

Thank you for sharing April! First of all, where'd you find your photographer and if you don't mind me asking, how much did he cost? I was actually really hoping to have some decent photography but I've found prices from 3K on up and that's unfortunately over our budget at this point. But the only options are then just the package that comes with the resort wedding which I'm hearing isn't that great. What's a girl to do then?

Thanks for the advice Sara. I see your wedding is coming up. Did you get everything down for the ceremony? It seems like now would be a good time for me to start really getting a hold on my planning and lists.

What's very comforting is that a lot of brides and brides to be on this forum seem to have used Tammy's services and quite successfully at that. ((sigh of relief))

Guests costs have ranged from $980.- $1200. for 3/4 nights. Most guests are flying from Chicago and Michigan

Honestly speaking, Dreams PV and Tulum are offering much better rates but Cabo is such a happening place right now.

Good luck I know it's a tough decision!

We brought our photographer from los angeles. He charged us 2500...i think...plus his expenses....I REALLY REALLY wanted Jessica Claire but she was too expensive. I tried to find someone who could shoot as close to her style as possible without the expense. We spent more than we wanted but it was one of the most important things to us so I shaved off in other places like using an ipod instead of a DJ or decorating the gazebo with our own flowers. Have you tried Juan Carloshuh.gif Or I know some brides have tried the photography schools...someone new where you only have to pay their expenses. The girl who started the yahoo board hired Jessica Claire that way 3 years ago and now she charges 10,000!!! :0 Good Luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
