Thanks for this. I actually hired Dino Gomez. I was initially going with an extremely extremely artistic photographer who was even more expensive. But when my sister looked at the pics she didn't think the brides actually looked pretty. Dino has an artistic edge, but still he focuses on the bride looking pretty. Years ago I used to model and I know, some photographers really get caught up on lighting, etc., but don't focus on the subject!!!! I know lighting is "extremely" important, but it is good to have a combo of a beautiful photo, artistic edge, with the bride and "others" looking great also.

At the time when I was looking for photographers, I was really interested in someone who was talented and had great photos I could see on a website. Elizabeth Medina does exceptional work but her prices were too high for us. She personally recommended Cecilia Dumas to us.

Since we were having a small wedding, we didn't require many hours of photography. Cecilia worked with us to make a package for 3 hours of service. I was extremely worried about hiring her at first since e-mails were not responded to in a timely manner. I actually wondered if she would show up on the date of our blessing.

One the day of our ceremony, she arrived early and came directly to our room. She brought along an assistant. Cecilia is very sweet and fun to work with. She makes you feel like a model while she takes shots.

It took a little over a week for us to get our photos and we had her courier them to the hotel. The photos were really great and she took some spectacular photos. My only regret was not telling her to take more photos of me from my good side. lol.

Since then it looks like her prices have increased in price. Before we booked her too, it looked like she had done that too. I can't say whether the increase in price is worth it or not because I'd have to see other photographers work to make comparisons. I think for the price we paid she did a great job. I only wish more photographers would just include the CD at no additional cost.

I uploaded a photo into my profile but somehow it doesn't show up. I wished it did since it was a great shot of us on the beach.

HTH.
Hey MayanBride,

It seems like Cecilia takes a long time responding to emails. What's the best email for her? I emailed her a few days ago and I'm still waiting to hear from her.

i didn't end up hiring her, but i had contacted her a few times and her response time was always pretty good (just a few days). she was always very polite and professional, and SHE sent follow up emails when she hadn't heard back from ME, lol!

I just want to say what an amazing photographer Erick was from Claudia Rodriguez. He was so great to work with and really easy going. He had us laughing and posing in great positions. Even husband said that he really liked him. We did a TTD with him and he was hysterical laughing at us and we even jumped in the pool with our outfits on!! I highly recommend him and I can not wait to see the pictures

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
