OCEAN HOTELS - by H10 and Hodelpa Hotels & Resorts is their website

I chose it for a number of considerations. First we narrowed down our country to the Dominican, then area (PC), then we looked at the resorts in that area. We chose Ocean because 1. it is fairly new (2005), 2. the price was reasonable for our guests 3. I had heard good reviews of the resort and specifically weddings there. That helped clinch it for me.

Hubby doesn't care... he just needs to know where to show up, LOL

It looks really nice!! I totally know what you mean about where to show up. Joe's attitude is "as long as there is a beach, you and me, we're covered" funny!

So I think we're finally 99% decided on a resort - Gran Bahia. I think we just need to book and get it over with

Yes, we chose it for the exact reasons as Deb listed. Also, I liked it cuz it was big enough for our 60 guests but not too big where it everyone can't find each other either.

In all honesty after 3 months of researching, starting in Mexico and ending up in DR . OB was the most reasonable price & had it all from good food, to updated look, to big beach, great activities and lots of bars/restaurants to choose from. But the best was the price point - we started looking at resorts $2800 per person and now our guests are only going to be paying $1275. Very happy I was.

My TA just got back from Ocean Blue and she raved about it. She said it was so much better than she ever imagined.

Good luck TVT with your choice and planning.

Cheers,

Sabrina

Could you post some of the info about the Ocean Blue. My TA recommended it as well but I have not been able to find any information!
Thanks!

The best place to get info for Ocean sands/blue I found, was travel advisor, lots of reviews and pictures and you can do the virtual tour. This is where I tell all of my guests, for our wedding, to look. Google the resort and then look for the travel advisor web site.

By the way I am also getting married at the ocean Sand, on Aug 14th of this year. I am thrilled with my choice of resort, Julissa the wc at the resort has been wonderful, she responds back to my questions within a few hours. She has put me at ease and made me feel that this will be the wedding I envision. I don't feel like I will have any unpleasant surprises, Julissa, and all the brides who have posted about this resort on other forums, have convinced me that I have made the right choice.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
