I can't get the darned picture to the right size to upload!

The poster got married there in 06, so maybe their locations have changed?
Well, I hope there's a gazebo. I want to have the ceremony in a gazebo, but was using the garden set-up as my option. I can't find any gazebo pics on the PPC website either ... but who knows? Let me know if you can get that pic. I'd love to see it.

Okay cool. I just did a search and found that pic too. Yes, that is exactly what I want as well. That is off from the lobby, in the garden area, but it's not listed as a gazebo. I guess that's why I was confused. I talk with the WC frequently, so I will email that picture and ask exactly where that location is. It's perfect! :-)

Great! Keep me posted on what she says!

Did you go with a package or do the a la carte? I haven't selected a date or booked yet, so I'm probably jumping the gun...lol. But I think I will probably settle on either the PC or Melia by next week, so I need to start planning!

Well, after ALL the great advice here, we've decided to go with the Paradisus Punta Cana on July 11, 2008 at 6pm. I was so glad they were able to do an evening time!

The WC has me down for that date, but hasnt' told me anything yet about a deposit, etc. We are going with one of the package deals with a few extras, since we are having between 20-30 guests.

What are some ideas for a 'rehearsal dinner'? I know there probably won't be a formal rehearsal, so is it worth it to have the dinner? If so, is there usually an extra charge?

I can't wait to start making plans now that we have the place/date, and thanks SO MUCH for everyone's input and advice!

I haven't had to put down any deposits for the actual wedding, etc.

As far as a rehearsal dinner ... as long as it's not "private" .. meabing no one else is allowed in the restaurant ... Liakin says there is no charge for the dinner. You can just get a reservation for all of your guests at one of the restaurants and there is no charge. So, I say, why not? We are having close to 100 people, so our rehearsal dinner will only be bridal party and immediate family, and then meet everyone for cocktails later.

We are also doing "Welcome Coktail Receptions" each night, since people are coming in on different days ... but we're just meeting at the Lobby Bar ... except for Wed-Thurs nights when they have a Beach BBQ and a Beach Wine Party -- those nights we'll meet at those functions. woo-hoo!!!

For the ceremony we are doing the vow renewal package and either our reception on La Barcaza (boat) or the a la carte reception options via the resort.

Are you having your wedding on the beach? Did I send you pics of the ceremony locations?

This is where we are having ours.

That is the very same location I want to do my wedding! I think it is beautiful.

The boat reception sounds neat! I think our party might be a bit small though...the package I am probably going with includes a 1 hour cocktail/finger food reception followed by buffet dinner. I think they do it at one of the restaurants overlooking the beach, so I hope it turns out nice!

How did you find out that the Beach BBQ and Wine Party are on Wednesday and Thursdays? Is there a place to view a schedule of all events?

I'm so excited! I feel like I am finally getting somewhere with my planning...and I am so glad that we picked the Paradisus.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
