Sun Village is a gorgeous resort...I visited in 2006 and loved it. My friend's wedding was there and it turned out really nice; she had approx. 150 guests and the resort did a good job of arranging everything that night. We had a blast.

Oh so new to posting...I hope this works!

I am hoping to get married in the DR sometime before the end of the year. We are interested in a private location where we can customize our wedding so that it isn't just another boring packaged resort wedding. Any ideas on a location?

Thanks

Hi I'm getting married at the Paradisus Palma Real, they have a lot of options to customize your reception. We are having fire dancers. But some of the other options are fireworks, folklore show, and they offer a chill out reception that has bali beds and seating no tables it's different than a regular reception. I posted on a thread the different reception options. i'll try to find the post for you.

Hi All!!

I am a new bride to be and trying to decide on a resort in Punta Cana for our wedding in May 2009. We need something that allows children and that is economical for our family. We have been looking at the Riu Palace Punta Cana but I cannot seem to find many people that have been married there. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

The Dominican rebublic offers lot's of economical family resorts, I was married at the Ocean Blue/Sand, and it was extremely reasonable for our families (lot's of kids) I satyed at a RIU in Mexico and i loved the service the Riu provided, very accomadating to their guests. I had issues with the service at the ocean Blue, but all of our guests LOVED it, my mom has just returned this week, and 2 of are other guests returned this winter also, and my sister and her family are planning on heading back in the fall.

Hello fellow DR brides. I'm getting married November 17, 2008 at the Majestic Colonial. We finally confirmed all our travel plans last week (what a nightmare that was) and are making our invitations this week... (yikes!).

It finally feels real!

Looking forward to hearing wise words from the gals who've been there, and sharing gripes with other brides-to-be.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
