Happy Hello's!

I am starting to research BD photogs, as I need to have mine done in April. I'm really confused about how much is "normal" to charge for a 1-2 hour session. The photog I'm looking at right now is charging $700 ON SALE. censored.gif That just seems like a TON of money...and that doesn't even include a book - you just get the rights to the digital pictures! Could you guys please post how much you paid for your whole BD experience (how much the photographer charged, how much it was to buy a BD book from them, or how much it cost to make your own, etc.)?

Thanks so much! blush2.gif

I haven't gotten a price yet from my photographer. I called her today and I will post it on here when she calls me back. I am thinking it will be less than $700 including the book. $700 seems like a lot for the BD pics, especially if you aren't getting the book included in that price.

WOW that seems super high and is crazy high compared to the $300 that I paid for mine with Sea Glass Photography - Wedding, Family, Fashion, and Commercial Photography in New England . Tess was AWESOME and I couldn't be happier with my photos... 2 other girls from the forum have gone to Tess too that I know of. For the $300 I was with Tess for over 2 hrs, changed 6 times, with over 200 photos taken, this also included my book with a disk of everything shot.

Some of us are doing a group session, so we're only paying $150 for the session and pics. We're all paying an additional $100 for hair and make-up. I'm doing the book on my own since it's a lot cheaper than paying an additional $150.

Her non-group/normal price for the session and pics is $250.

Look around, I'm sure you can find somebody for a lot less. As with wedding photography, obviously if you go to the best you are going to pay that price. You don't necessarily have to go to a self-proclaimed boudoir photographer, if you do you will pay more (just like I didn't use a "destination wedding photographer" and I saved a lot of money that way).

And you can easily make your book yourself from mypublisher for under 100$.

Fee for B&B where the photos were done (my choice)

16x20 canvas wrap

40 images in a Diva Album (photobook)

20 4x6 images in a Brag Book

1 8x10

2 5x7

4 Wallets

All images in high-res on a disc

Custom Card

I just talked to my photographer. She has done photography for years, but never a BD shoot. She wants me to be her model to show other bride-to-be's who potentially want to do a BD shoot with her. I am so excited! She is paying for the posh hotel and all the pics. All I have to do is buy the hard back book (around $100).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
