I don't want to be Debbie Downer - but don't get your hopes up about finding it. Greenville, SC is much smaller than ATL and I wasn't robbed at random, it was stolen from the tanning salon .. and mine never did turn up. I only say that to help you "move on" faster ... because the anger and sadness can consume you for a while.

Oh....I'm not holding my breath. I just think going out and looking for a new ring the next day is kinda a bit much for me. I think in due time I will be okay. Just stinks.

So the ring was NOT insured yet, right? I would take an active role and start looking in Pawn Shops and Ebay as soon as possible. I've had bad experiences with lost items and the police. In the past, if always just seemed like they couldn't give a $hit, but maybe that's just the rudeness of the NYPD. I'm so sorry this happend to you! Just try to stay positive, and who knows, it might just turn up!

Amen sister! I got my cheap-o a few weeks later ... and we just recentl started talking more seriously about replacing the e-ring ... and we've been married almost a year now, lol.

You summed it up precisely. It stinks.

But I'm still holding out hope for you! If they can catch someone trying to use your credit cards, etc - then it will be a lot easier to trace back where the ring might be! bunny_4.gif

That is such a crazy story - as much as it sucks to loose your e-ring I'm just glad you both are ok - it could have been so much worse. I agree that you should actively start looking yourself. I wouldn't go to the pawn shop indicating you are looking for stolen merchandise though - if they have to give it back they are out the money & some sketchy places may not be honest about having it. You should just go inquiring about what they have - say you are looking for that particular ring. If they say no they don't have it, then give them the flyer you have made up.

Again, so sorry you are going through this. Good Luck!

you know what i just thought of? when we got engaged and bought my ring, i called to have it added to my insurance policy and they told me that as long as i had renters/home insurance that it was included and didnt need to be listed separately. so that might be worth a try.

BUT idk if that would cover an item stolen OUTSIDE of the home sad.gif again, doesnt hurt to ask!

Abbie - that is true. But, unfortunately ... if you file a claim ... it has a negative effect on your homeowners policy, which is why we didn't file a claim that way. My DH said he had insured it - when in fact he hadn't but we didn't worry b/c of the homehowners policy until we looked into it and found out it was a bad idea to file the claim that way.

But - lil_miss_frog - I would most DEFINITELY look into that with your homeowners or renters policy and see what kind of feedback they give you. Depending on the value of the ring, you may get different advice. It's definitely something worth looking in to!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
