David's Bridal - Walk in?

Recommended Posts

I would recommend making an appointment. I went in there to look without an appointment and they did help me .. but I had to wait a while. And, they no longer let you browse through the physical gowns (at least at the one by me) - you have to go through the catalog, pick the ones you like and they will pull as many as they have time for.

Good Luck!

When I went, I didn't have an appointment. They had a few brides in there, but they didn't have a problem with me trying things on or anything. I went pretty late at night though - after 7pm. I was allowed to browse through dresses and all that on my own too. I guess it just depends on the location you go to!

I have been to David's a couple different times with friends getting married and have never been able to be helped without an appointment. I told myself I would never buy my dress there, but actually just did recently and am going to pick it up this week. When I went (with an appointment) they acted like they were extremely busy even though there were only a few other people in the store. I waited almost an hour past when my appointment was just to be able to try on ONE FREAKING DRESS (and saw the person who ended up being my consultant walking around doing nothing and hanging out in the back room). At least I liked it on me as much as I did staring at it for an hour, otherwise I would have been really pissed. I can't remember if I ever went during the week, but I would make an appointment just to be safe. Good luck!

The DB I went to had no problem getting me in a dressing room on a Saturday w/o an appointment. Haha, in fact, so much so, that I didn't even get my own chance to browse through their dresses. They basically shoved me in a room with undergarments and brought dresses to me. When they asked what I've been liking that I've tried on elsewhere they'd perk up, say "I know just the dress" and then bring something highly unlike what I described. My mother, sister, another bridesmaid and I were in complete shock. The dress I was finally impressed with was one that my sister and other bridesmaid found, not the sales clerks. Then later, came to find out that this one was double in price of the dress I had found earlier elsewhere and at no more than equal quality.

On the other hand, we did get the bridesmaid dresses here as well, and with that, I didn't feel so pushed and thought it went well.

I imagine that part has to do with my personality and not appreciating the pushiness. I only hope that not all have such a difficult time with their own local DB's. Lol, for me it was one crazy experience.

I am going next Wednesday night and since everyone in the world wants to come with me, LOL I think that whoever is assigned to me that night is going o be a little overwhelmed.

I am going to make an appointment just to be sure I get a dresses room. I ,Too ,am going to print everything out ahead of time and just let the bring me dresses :-)

You should make an appointment just to be on the safe side :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
