HELP - I leave Wed, which wedding dress should I wear?

Recommended Posts

I voted for #1. I can tell by your own comments that you love the first one b/c it is different and you feel that the second one is more festive and common. You are not getting married on the beach so the first one is fine. It's all about what you feel comfortable in. I say go with your initial gut reaction and stay with #1. Bring both of them down of course, but I think you should go for the first one. It looks so elegant. I absolutely love it. And I love dresses that are different, they make a girl feel special.

Hold the phone! You are leaving on Wednesday and you donâ€t have a dress that you decided on. I would be loosing my mind right about now! I really like #1. I think it will look pretty with the area that you are getting married in.

I AM LOSING MY MIND RIGHT NOW!! smile105.gif Actually I think I lost it a while ago LOL.

You guys are helping, though. It's nice to hear your opinions on what I should do. I think when it comes to that day, I will put one on and know which one is "the one". And I am considering the third option of wearing #1 to the ceremony #2 for dinner and dancing.

I'm just kicking myself because I feel like I blew my one chance to look gorgeous on my wedding day and now I have two dresses that are just OK. I have been crying about it for the past few days, which I hate because in the grand scheme of things, it's just a dress and there are a lot bigger problems going on in this world. My FI has been very supportive and helpful, but I'm afraid I am not going to feel like I look my best or feel special on my big day.

I am embarrassed to admit this, but this is how desperate I am: I actually found my dream dress on ebay the other day, a Carolina Herrera strapless mermaid with pleated hem. I had never seen it before at any of the salons I went to. It was never worn but had been altered and the measurements were exact to mine. No one had bid on it in 7 days. As soon as I saw it I thought: THAT is the dress I should have bought. I could even picture myself walking down the aisle toward my FI in it. So I bid on it and then had to leave for work. The auction ended two hours later and I got outbid at the last minute. I actually contacted the winner and offered to buy it from her and she even agreed, only if it arrived and she didn't like it. But she did like it, of course, because it is an amazing dress. Now everything seems second best to that dress. I guess I just have to let it go and realize what's really important is that we are together with eachother and our friends and family, happy and in love!

Aww, I'm sorry about that. I still find dresses that seem to appear out of nowhere and it sucks because where were they when I needed them?? I understand. Maybe there will always be that "I should have picked that dress" thing no matter what dress(es) you end up with. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to have a perfect day but I bet in the end most brides look back and realize it isn't such a big deal. Of course it is our day to shine but if you deeply love your husband the trimmings don't really matter. I bet he'll think you are a goddess if you walked down the aisle in a $25 white sundress so don't sweat it, try to have fun with it :o)

We are going to bring both of them down. Which one do you guys think I should wear?

#1 is the first dress I ever tried on and I fell in love with it. It is different and very "bridal" to me. It is a Romona Keveza designer dress and cost me an arm and a leg.

#2 is what I bought yesterday at David's Bridal. It's fun and festive, but more typical of what you see all the time.

Also, we are not getting married on the beach, but in a Spanish courtyard at the resort, and I will be wearing a chapel-length veil.

Have you decided tomorrow is the big day. Are you excited? Have fun and congratulation

It will be ok smile03.gif You will know the right one when you get there and see the ambionce (spelling and I am a teacher) LOL. I am sure the your FH husband would think you look gorgeous if you wore a mumu and house slippers. It is you that he fell in love with. Not the dress. He loves you and that is all that matters.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
