Favors or OOT bags for 50+people

Recommended Posts

We are having about 50 people at our wedding in Riviera Maya, maybe even a few more... We were not expecting this many people to come, but we are reallly excited that we got such a huge turnout!!! Anyway, originally, we were going to make OOT bags, but I fear that with 50-60 people, we do not have enough money to do that. And plus, how the heck would i give everything to everyonehuh.gif

Does anyone have any ideas of a nice, cool, or unique affordable favor to give to our guests... I think it might be tacky to not give anything... Any ideas??

I was looking at the envirosax. They are reusable grocery bags in relly cute , fun and tropical patterns. The alos zip down onto itself for handy transprt and cute to hand out to guests.

One site had sets of 3 you could buy and then 15 % off and they were like $5 each, not sure if that is too much.

Envirosax Shopping Bags - Pouch of 5 Bags : outdoorbalance.com - where balance is in style!

I also saw a cute idea on the forum to place maracas at the table with a little tag that said to shake it for the bride and groom to kiss, instead of tapping the glass.

They had mini maracas on the OTC website , I think 12 for $15?

Wedding Favors - Unique Wedding Favors - Cheap Wedding Party Favors -they have the best priced favors on the internet IMO

Party supplies, crafts, party decorations, toys: Oriental Trading -really good prices as well

I am planning to have around 50 come to my DW too (if they all book that is another thing!), so I have scoured the internet for good prices to keep costs down.

Haha... do ittt! As I was looking at the websites you posted, I began to realize that I would have to tote everything down there. I don't trust shipping things, you can never trust what will happen to your stuff, I have experienced that before. So, I am thinking that will be a cute idea, since I think it will be more authentic to give people something from down there... OMG, and I just realized, we are getting married like a month before you... so, we will most likely go in to Playa Del Carmen to go shopping... I can let you know some good stores and the price of some of the things so then you will have an idea... or anything else!!

We're looking at about 40 people attending our wedding in October. We initally wanted to do OOT bags, but after many discussions, we have opted against them.

Were were looking at $20-$30 dollars per bag when all was said and done, and realized that many of the items we were looking to put in the bags were not going to be used by our guests anyway. Also, we had no idea how were were going to transport some of the bags down to Cuba, as we have a number of guests that are travelling from outside of the province and outside of the country, so giving them all out beforehand was not really an option.

FH and I have decided, in lieu of OOT bags, we are doing travel mugs (because I think they are a fabulous idea, and our guests will definitly get a lot of use out of them) and we will be making a donation to 2 charities.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
