Bridesmaids dresses.. HELP

Recommended Posts

So I don't want to put my bridesmaids in real bridemaids dress.. I wanted to do a sundress or something from a Macys but I am having trouble envisoning this in my pictures. My wedding dress is not formal .. Truth be told it's a white bridesmaids dress.

The issue is I have one bridesmaid that is model skinny, one that plans to be pregnant, and one that is on the heavy side. In normal circumstances I would pick a designer and color and say have at it.. but since I am not doing a tradional bridesmaids dress I can't do that.

I have not a clue what to do. What have others done?

I was actually considering doing that as welll; as my BM's are so varied in their body shapes and I wanted to keep things in formal. Well, fast forward 6 months and 3 annoying/horrid shopping trips and I gave up on that idea. I basically bought my dress and let them loose in RK Bridal; told them to figure out what they all like and show me. Luckily, they all agreed on something. Granted it was more formal than what I would've chosen but it was easier that way because i was done dealing with it.

So.. sorry for the rant! .. anyway, I would just take them all shopping but have a color and fabric in mind that you like so you can give them direction. You don't want a free for all.

Good Luck!!!!

Maybe just give them a sample of fabric in a color you love or tell them to find a shade of blue (or whatever color you want) and tell them to find a simple sundress that they love. Since you aren't going traditional it would work perfectly. I have seen some pictures when girls do this and it looks really cool too.

Good luck!

PS Check out places in the malls too, I got my BM dresses for $16.50 each at Forever 21.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
