A few quick updates:

1) There will be another girl joining us. Her name is Shawn and she works with me! She is super sweet and is getting married in October 09. Not a destination wedding; so I can't bring her into our BDW family!

2) Kamila can get Dream Hotel... with the addition of Shawn its only an additional $17.25 per person. King size room, 285 sq ft, for $219.

3) Here is an idea of how the day would go.. personally, for me - I don't mind if you girls are there when my pics are done and like the idea that we can all hang out and drink champagne and relaz together... It will probably help me relax more if we are all just having fun. But, its a completely personal decision for everyone. I am good with however you all want to do this...

"We will start at about 11:30 - so the first girl can arrive at that time and start the hair/makeup process. The actual shoot will start at about 12:00ish, so the next girl can arrive at about 1:00, then about 2:00 and about 3:00 - if you want to be all separate and not have anyone else in the room at the same time as your shoot.

The last shoot I did in NYC the room was relatively small so Michelle had all her equipment set up in front of the bed, with plenty of room for me to move around, move my ligths around and pose etc. All of the girls arrived at once and just hung out, drank champagne and chatted - it was a good time. The girl that went last, after everyone else left, actually said that it was "more fun" when everyone was in the room cheering each other on and chatting and it made her feel more self-conscious to be alone in the room with just me and my cameras and lights!

If any of you feel very uncomfortable about being seen by others, you may want the later spot. I think you mentioned Shawn needs a later timeslot so she can arrive at 4:30 and be finished by about 6:00. However if you want to chat with other brides, listen to music and hang out drinking champagne etc - you can all arrive at once. The photo shoot is still just one person per shoot, so you get at least an hour of shooting devoted to each person."

Let me know what you all think!!!

Because I am looking at the pictures and the windows are so small.... there wont be any nice pics by the window and everything is so white. I dont mean to be a party pooper =(((
Kamila was very excited with the venue, amount of natural light, etc for our photos; so I wouldn't stress to much. IMHO, a neutral backdrop is less distracting and makes you the focus of the pics as well as allows for more freedom with your outfit color choices etc.. But, that is just my 2 cents; I am super flexible with where we do this but I had to make a decision at the time based on the feedback I had.

I will check with Kamila; but I think that the room has already been booked. Thank you for looking into it.. I will post back on here once I hear back.

Oh and Kristy.. I will check about the hair/makeup we should have on when we get there.

All - I think the lobby would be the best place to meet at 1130am; but again I will check with Kamila and get back to you all soon.

smile03.gif to all!! I can't wait to meet you and share this! We are going to have so much fun!

Hi Ladies,

I would like for us all to meet in the lobby at 11:15am of the hotel so we can discuss all the below for logistical sake.

I just heard back from Kamila re: the following -

Venue - it is already booked.

Dream Hotel 210 W 55th St New York

Kamila said "As far as the lighting - no worries! I bring all my professional lighting equipment and I can shoot in pretty much any light situation."

Timing: hair/makeup for the first person starts at 1130am

Kamila said: "Of course if you want to all arrive together thats ok, but maybe we may need a couple of the girls to hang out in the lobby or restaurant for a bit if other girls are not comfortable with everyone being in the room with them! i think it will be a lot of fun if all the girls hang out together, but there just may be a little bit of moving around during the shoots, but if everyone is okay with other girls being in the room while they are getting their shoot done - this will be a lot of fun, so it's totally okay with me as long as it's okay with you girls!!"

Order of shooting:

Kamila said "And usualy the girls choose the order in which the sessions go, depending on what time works better for each girl."

Hair/Makeup:

Kamila said "First, yep definitely come with clean dry hair and fresh faced, no makeup."

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
