Ring stuff - For sure go shopping and tell him generally what you like. For example, I really wanted a super thin band so every ring I showed him had that. You don't have to pick a specific one, but narrow it down. There are so many choices out there I'm sure his head is swimming!

Congratulations!! If you guys have picked a date it sounds to me like you are engaged! I got a promise ring and didn't get engaged until 4 years later! LOL
Good luck with your wedding plans!

Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you've gotten some great advice already from the other gals. I'd give him ring hints too....my hints weren't so subtle....I emailed him exactly what I liked, but gave him a few options...I told him the stone size was completely up to him....worked out great. I love my ring!

        Good luck with your planning.

I am new too! You are right there is tons of great information in the forum. I am currently in Virginia as well. We are staying in Virginia Beach. The last time I went to PV was about 10 years ago and it was nice. We went to a smaller secluded town and I enjoyed that even more. Don't worry you will find help with your questions here.

As far as ring shopping goes. I went with Joe to a bunch of different places and found a few rings that I really liked. I'm glad I went with because the ring I thought I really wanted looked absolutley horrid on my hand. My 2 cents is to go with and find a few options that you love and he can pick from those. Then it's still a surprise
