Duty on wedding dresses???

    Hello ladies,
    I have a question that hopefully someone can answer.
    I am from Canada and bought my dress at Davids Bridal in the US.
    I was wondering if anyone knows what the duty costs maybe when i brin git back
    My dress cost 475 tax's in

      I looked in the US and asked at the border coming home - NO duty on wedding dresses was the answer I got!! I ended up buying Canadian as the store here matched the price so good luck!

        I ordered mine online and only had to pay the GST & PST when i brought it across the border... if it is shipping directly to you though it will likely be more and if it is from UPS or FedEX it could be alot more with brokerage charges... But you will still have saved a ton!

          It also depends if you pick it up yourself in the US. If you do, and want to avoid paying PSt + GST, stay for 48 hours or more. That way you can each bring in 400$ worth of things duty/taxes free!
