Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Recommendations

i have heard mostly good things about the resort...

here is a recent wedding review off tripadvisor.

My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Resort and Spa from June 9th to 16th. We had our wedding on the resort grounds on June 11th. About 30 of our friends who came to attend our also stayed at the resort for various lengths of times. Everyone thought the resort was beautiful and had a great time.

The grounds of the resort are very well kept, there are winding paths and fountains, everywhere you go there are beautiful tropcial plants and flowers. We stayed for 6 days and still did not walk through the entire premise, which is 26 acres. The old Spanish architecture is beautiful, the villas are in shades of orange, yellow and light pink. The pools are large and very clean, we stayed by the Infinity pool most of the times, which attracts the most people since it's at the front and center of the resort and also has the best view. But it never gets overly crowded and we were always able to find a chair.

The service staff at the resort were mostly very pleasant and helpful. Our events coordinator onsite Irma who coordinated our wedding is so sweet and did a wonderful job. Our wedding ceremony took place at the Palapa Fiesta and our reception was at De Cortez restaurant, which served delicious food! We had the best wedding we could have ever asked for and all our guests had a great time.

There are many nice resorts along the Corridor in Cabos but I have to say the Sheraton is one of the best ones. Many other resorts do not have such nice grounds and interesting architecture as the Sheraton. When you are in the resort you feel like you are in this lush paradise, which is totally different than the dry, dessert like landscape of Cabo.

The resort is also only about 10 minutes drive from the town Cabo San Lucas, which makes it so easy to just go and grab dinner. I can't imagine staying any further from town.

We will definitely stay at the Sheraton again when we come back to Cabo, probably on our one year anniversay! :)

We didnt' stay at the Sheraton on our sight visit but we did chck it out and I think it is one of the best hotels we saw (and we saw a lot!). I loved it and it was our second choice right behind the Hilton. In fact it's actually nicer than the Hilton but also a little bit more expensive. There's a gazebo for weddings or you can also get married on the beach. They are redo-i9ng all the rooms and the new rooms are GORGEOUS. However when they go to show you the rooms make sure they show you the suite that they upgrade you too and not the presdential suite - obviously the presidential is a lot nicer but it's not what you'll be getting. I think all the rooms in the entire place have ocean views or partial ocean views. It's really lovely - you will enjoy your stay there!

We stayed at the Sheraton just a few weeks ago. I really liked it. The main restaurant is yummy and there is a mexican restaurant on property that is good too. The rooms were nice and the staff was kind and helpful. The property is very pretty (photogenic).

I have nothing but great things to say about i. Plus, if you are considering it for your wedding - there are two REALLY great places to have the ceremony and reception. It was my second choice.

I stayed there for a week in December and we loved it. I love how the rooms are in different villas rather than one large building - makes it feel more tropical. The rooms themselves are awesome - expecially the bathrooms. It sounds weird but they have these great big tubs with a shuttered window that opens to the bedroom. We ate breakfast on our porch a few days because it was so peaceful and relaxing.

The pools are nice as is the beach. No swimming in the ocean but we laid out on the beach every day. There weren't that many beach vendors which was nice and there was plenty of waitstaff to bring us drinks on the beach.

It takes about 20 - 30 minutes to get to downtown Cabo but it is a really easy trip.

We got the massage on the beach while we were there and it was great. I fell asleep. The workout room wasn't super great (from what I saw walking by it - not like I worked out at all while there.)

The food was good and the staff was nice. We did a sea-kayaking trip though the concierge and it was tons of fun.

If you have anything more specific you want to know about feel free to let me know!

Thank you ALL for your great reviews! I feel SO much better knowing that all of you had such good things to say about the Sheraton! Now I'm getting excited!

We're definetley thinking of having our wedding there, but want to check out some other places too: the Hilton & Dreams for sure. I also wanted to check out Casa Natalia (since I heard the food was so good) - but we are planning on at least 100 guests (althougth I'm hoping for less) and from what I've read it's a smaller hotel and they haven't done weddings for that many big groups.

I love Casa Natalia and we did stay there on our sight visit. However I don't think 100 or more people could really fit in their comfortably. It's a good space for about 50 people or up to 75 but it'll be tight with more. BUT go talk with Nathalie (the owner) maybe they'll set up tables going down into the pool area (it's sort of a terraced space). Don't rule it out because it could be really gorgeous with the tables spread out - just make sure they'd be willing to do that for you.

And the food IS really great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
