My grandmother purchased me a set for HS graduation from Sears. It is the American Tourister brand-I still use it....I think it has been 7 years and I travel quite a bit. I just got a coach carry on from the coach outlet for christmas...

I would try TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or maybe Khols. They often have brands like American Tourister, Samsonite, Swiss Army, etc. for decent prices.

Also check out outlet malls if you have any close.

If the price is right, e-bay or craigslist might be an option as long as it is a good brand.

Also check Macys! They always have really good sales on luggage, and they have nice luggage. I spent $200 and have a really nice 5 piece set of DVF luggage from Macys.

Also like Erin said TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls have good prices.

Size is really up to you. Although make sure to get a 22" for a carry-on, but the rest depends on whether you like duffels, hard side, what you take w/ you when you travel
