Palace Resorts - outside photographer?

I know this thread is old, but I was wondering if anyone has gotten married recently at a Palace resort and if they brought outside photographers.

I have booked an outside photographer and I am just buying him a day pass.  They state no outside photographers but many many brides get away with just buying them a pass.  The WC won't say anything.

ok great thank you.  Did you just tell them you weren't going to use their photographer or are you using theirs as well?

Not using theirs at all.  I corresponded with them a few times and wasn't happy with them.

Did you have the free package or did you have one of the other packages and exchange the photography services with another service?

Originally I had a bought a package but after I decided to cancel the photographer, I decided to cancel my package and just add the things that I wanted.  I added the horse drawn carriage, the fireworks and the harpist.  I am using some of our vacation dollars for the videographer because they do allow you to do that.

Ok thank you, good to know! I will definetly want a video, have you heard good things about the resort's videographer?

Yes I have.  I know some brides also buy the raw footage (unedited) just to make sure nothing important is missed on the final copy.

I just got my wedding contract for Isla Mujeres Palace Resort and it explicitly says that there's no outside vendors allowed, so I was worried about not being able to bring my photographer. However, seeing some of the responses, it doesn't seem like a big deal. Interestingly enough, I was going to post a new thread asking this very same question.

 

Anyone have an issue at Isla Mujeres?

Which Palace resort are you getting married at?
