I don't have time to read all of the replies, but I am here right now. We had a cost of 7G US for our wedding and we paid in US cash, Jamaican Cash as well as Credit Card, there is no taxes on credit card but you have a one time fee - like $5. Tai Flora will charge seperate and again add another fee of $5. Photography/videography only takes cash.

Wow, there seems to be alot of discrepancy as to how you can pay for what. I emailed Chandlyn the other day about payment for a bunch of diff services (and some other stuff) and this is what she responded today (her responses are surrounded by ***):

Can you please advise if you can be paid in credit cards and travellers cheques for the following: ***All of the following can be paid for by credit card***

judge and legal fees

beach reception

flowers

If we pay in credit cards, is there an extra service charge on top of the prices? ***No there is not***

If we pay in travellers cheques, can we just give them directly to you or do they need to be cashed? ***You may give them directly to us.***

I know Michael from the photoshop does not accept credit cards...will we have to cash the travellers cheques? ***You may need to do that but please confirm with him*** (fyi - I emailed Michael and he said we can give the travellers cheques directly to him...they also take cash, no credit cards)

Does Renova accept credit cards? ***Yes they do***

With respect to the cake, can you tell me which flavours you offer and also for the cream? I've heard some negative reviews with respect to this so I just want to make sure I don't have to get an outside vendor. ***We offer a sponge cake which can either be chocolate or vanilla with the white butter cream frosting.***

Will there be enough champagne for 32 people to toast after our ceremony or do we need to purchase an extra bottle? ***We will have enough for everyone***

Hope this helps to clarify things a bit ladies....but then again, you might get a totally different answer once you get down there, haha!

Once you meet her that sounds just like her! Chandlyn is very easy going, she will make it all work for you don't worry!!! Everything she said is true! I'm still here at the Riu and I see her out working every day morning til night!!

We got Rum cake for our cake - it was AMAZING!!!!! Not one person disappointed and all the staff were drueling!! It's a jamaican favorite, trust me, it's yummy!! Since there is Rum in it however, it does cost more.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
