How much should I spend on my gifts to my bridesmaids?

I'm not really having any so i've bought nothing really lol one of my best friends is coming and giving me away so i'm buying her a bracelet but its about £65

I have 2 that are going with me, and this is what I'm doing for them:

 

MOH - $100 room deposit plus 1 night's stay, massage & hair day of

BM - BM Dress ($170), massage & hair day of

 

And then I will probably get them nice OOT bags and a special something extra in them.

 

So about $225 each so far...

 

I also have 1 in-town BM who is helping throw the bach/lingerie party, so I will probably find her a nice thank you gift or something - not sure on that yet! Probably around $50 for that.

I am only spending about $125 each. My wedding is in Bermuda, and Michael Kors just came out with a new perfume called "Bermuda," so I am getting them that, plus the jewelry, flip flops, and hair flower that they will wear that day.

I bought my girls a matching garment bag, duffle bag, and large cosmetic bag. I bought it from the $5 sale on american bridal last week, so that only really cost me $25 including shipping (I didn't monogram, as neither of them are married yet and initials change!). I'm putting make up for the wedding day, Big Sexy Hair spray, body wash/lotion/spray from Bath and Body Works, manicure set, sunscreen, nail polish, make up remover, and I can't remember what else in the cosmetic bag. Flip flops and a beach towel will be in the duffle bag. I may add a clutch, so they have a lot of goodies that they can use in Gulf Shores, but also when we are back home too. I'm also having their dresses custom made, and giving them wedding jewelry. We are probably also getting a mani/pedi once we arrive.

 

I have two attendants, and we are also providing travel and lodging accomodations. We don't have a big budget, but I wanted to pamper my girls as I'm the first in my immediate circle to get married. It's important to note that I'm a bargain shopper; I use my Bath and Body coupons to get lots of free stuff!

Oh, I guess an amount would be appreciated, huh? LOL, I'm losing my mind. I'm probably spending around $200 on each of them without the travel and lodging, but they are each hosting me a shower so it's well deserved.

wow, I'm glad I looked at this so that I will include a good amount in my budget for them. I'm not cheap but I do have a budget and I guess I didn't know what your supposed to give.

I don't think it's really necessary to go overboard. Don't break the bank because you feel guilty. Just think about it...does it really matter that it is a destination wedding or if it were back at home? Either way, any wedding I have been in, you bought your own dress, shoes, paid for hair, makeup, bought them a shower gift, paid for throwing the shower, gave a wedding gift, etc. The only gifts I have received, or any gifts that anyone else I know have received as a bridesmaid are the jewelry. I know it can be a lot to ask someone to pay just for your wedding, but don't forget, they are on vacation too.

thank you! so i'm NOT the only one? first of all, the reason we are having a destination wedding is because we can't afford one at home. i see no reason to spend hundreds of dollars each on bridesmaids! i can guarantee (and i've been a bridesmaid 4 times and MOH once) that no bride ever spent more than about $40 on me. when you are in someone's wedding party, you are the one who is supposed to spend the money on the them! i have never, until this forum, heard of brides spending so much on their wedding parties. i understand they are spending a lot to be at your wedding, but honestly, the rest of your guests are spending just as much to be there!

oh and i thought it was supposed to be an honor just to be chosen as a bridesmaid? seriously, i'd like to be a bridesmaid for one of you ladies! you're so spendy!

We spent about $160 on each BM for a garnet pendant necklace with pave diamonds on a white gold chain. We are also paying for their accommodations which is about $2500 per couple, but I guess that doesn't really count as a bridal party gift since we are doing that for all of our guests.
