How much should I spend on my gifts to my bridesmaids?

Recommended Posts

my bridesmaids are my sisters, so it was a different situation. i paid for their flights to mexico, bought then wedding day jewelry to match their dresses, and MOH tanks. Without the flights, the jewelry and tanks cost about $100 per girl. When I've been a bridesmaid, I have received wedding jewelry, which I'd guess cost about $75-100, so that seems like the going range to me.

Being that I only have two bridesmaids – I kind of splurged on them. I purchased their silver sandals for the beach wedding they look like this!

Then for all of their efforts they are getting matching Frank Gehry Orchid Pendants, from Tiffanyâ€s, I canâ€t wait to see the look on their faces when I give them their little blue bags. I plan to give them to them on the morning of the wedding.

I am getting my 4 bridesmaids an aromatherapy massage at the spa, my maid of honor gets a full body polish + aromatherapy massage. I also got them their jewelry (custom made by someone on etsy.com--$58 for earrings and bracelet) and some cute wristlets for their welcome bags to carry their money, chapstick, etc. in.

My 2 flower girls are getting mermaid towels with "Flower Girl" embroidered on them. They were a little pricey for towels, but we couldn't resist! Would post the link...but I'm not sure how to!

Oh... I love the Blue Star Pendant Necklace. That would go perfect with my color scheme and the price is good. And, yes I would love to see the looks on my girls faces when I give them a little blue bag! That's $80.

And I am also going to get them garter flasks - http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php...ng_id=15944470
in my wedding colors; because if nothing else, my best friends in the wedding love to drink and party! Those are $38 each approx.

I did pay $500 toward each person's trip to help defray the cost of going but I don't really count that as a "gift" in the traditional sense.
Wow.. thats awfully generous!! (the $500 toward their trips).. All the bridesmaids that could make it for me WANTED to go down and considered it a great reason for a vacation, so I don't feel bad about the added costs... I'm almost happy that I was able to help spice up their year! lol

I'm spending about $100-$200 on each girl, I have 5 maybe 6 in my wedding party. I'm having jewellery custom made for them from this fabulous designer in Vancouver, so the cost depends on the materials used and the piece itself. I'm so excited! I can't wait! cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
