Hi Laura! I'm also in Toronto, and totally am keeping it simple :-) It is definitely possible and there are many of us on this forum who have chosen to do a destination wedding in order to minimize stress associated with planning elaborate weddings. Let me know if you want to chat about what I have done and how simple ours will be, private message me if you want!

                Hi Laura!

This is definitely the right place to get you started with your planning. Some of the resorts have some sort of a coordinator to help you with your planning process.

They can provide with vendor lists and a number of suggestions. They can also take some of the load off from you so that you can have a good experience. Once you decide on your venue/hotel the rest will start falling into place.

                Welcome to the forum!

Hi - we are getting married in the Riveria Maya - in Akumal. We are renting a villa with beautiful grounds for the wedding. You should check into Akumal. It is a wonderful little town 30 min south of Playa Del Carmen. It is known for the sea turtles in the bay. There are several villas to rent right on the water. If you are interested, let me know and I can give you the website of the family owned company I book through. Good Luck!
