Help! There are too many places to pick from, I'm having trouble picking something out! So far I like Las Caletas and Le Kliff, I haven't really looked at any resorts. I'm trying to have the whole thing for less than $5000, so anyone have any recommendations? I also want to keep the resort my guest stay at below $2000 because a lot will be traveling with whole families including kids. Please help me!

I might be slightly biased, but I think you should go for Las Caletas!! We had the most amazing wedding there!

Our guests stayed at Dreams. In November, no one paid close to $2000 for a 4/5 day stay. We stayed 10 days and paid less than 2,000 per person

My TA got my guests $108pp a night at The Dreams Resort and they are coming for 4-5 nights. With airfare most of my guests are paying around $1200 total. The best part is Dreams is all-inclusive and with our TA my guests made 3 payments and won't have to pay anything when they get there.

Yeah!!!

All activities rehearsal dinner and welcome reception, my FI and I are paying for that way our guests don't have to pay anything out of their pocket except for transportation to/from airport once they get there.

This made me feel better about asking them to come to PV in this economy.

Happy Planning.... Once you get this decision made you will feel so much better

I just had an >amazing< wedding at LC. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I didnt want to go the resort route because I knew people would stay all over (I have family with condos there, etc). LC was super easy to plan too, all I did was stress over the stuff I wanted to, like OOT bags and stuff. I also visited Le Kliff with a wedding planner, and didnt love it. FIrst of all, I thought that little astroturf irregularly shaped platform was weird. Second, they never responded to my email which means you or your wedding plannr will have to stay on top of them, at least that is my guess.YMMV. But most importantly, the area you have your wedding in is private to you because you are the lowest elevation in the restaurant, but everyone above can look down to the wedding, which I didnt like.

Dont get me wrong, and I dont want to insult and LeKliff brides. Le Kliff is very pretty and I have heard they do a lovely wedding, but those factors were difficult for me personally to get over. The comments my LC wedding got were that it was the most beautiful, memorable wedding my guests had ever been to, so I am biased.

I am getting married at Le Kliff in October this year so I too am probably biased.

So far, I have been exceptionally pleased with Carlos' and my wedding planner - Vallarta Weddings' communication time frames for me. I have never had a question go unanswered for more than just a day or so. Keep in mind that they are a restaurant - and they are NOT open in the mornings - so when they get your email it will be early evening time frame - so expect that there will be a 24 hour delay in emails being responded to. I know that anytime I have had a question my wedding planner was able to get in touch with Carlos within an hour and have an answer for me right away. Also, Carlos is just so nice I can't even say enough about him so far. A week before Christmas (naturally it would happen right when my checking account takes a giant hit from Christmas presents) another bride wanted to book on my day. Carlos called and let me know that I needed to make a deposit or he would let her have my day. He gave me the option first- many places wouldn't do that. He even offered to let me pay just a $250 deposit right then to hold my date and then pay the rest after Christmas. I thought that was above what he was required to do.

I have never been to either place so I can't say from a view aspect which place is better - but everyone I have ever talked to says the best thing about Le Kliff is the view. I figured what better background to my photo's could I have other than the ocean?

Good luck with picking your location! It's going to really come together after you get this done!

Well, my opinion would also be a bit biased BUT, we had a young family come with us, so activities for kids was definitely something we had to think about!

I would say, by far, we LOVED Dreams!! The beach was private, there was activities galore and the food was sooooooo good! Not to mention the service!

We considered Le Kliff but did not choose it because a lot of people said it was a little pricey for the food and because of the privacy issue, but it is beautiful and they were very responsive to my requests for their pricing.

We are getting married at Dreams. Our guests are paying $128 pp but that includes transportation to and from the hotel. There are less expensive places to stay and they were difficult to work with in terms of getting a lower price for reserving a block of rooms. They also don't offer you much in terms of your wedding for bringing a bunch of people there. But is IS costing us less than $5000 (we are doing an open bar cocktail hour and 4 hour reception including sit down dinner in a private location but not much decoration). We wanted to stay in that part of town and there aren't many options down there and it really does get great reviews, so we'll see!

If some of your guests stay at an AI and others don't, those who aren't staying won't be able to visit without paying a fee (at Dreams I think it's $60 or $70 dollars a day). If your wedding is there and they arrive within 30 minutes of the ceremony, they don't have to pay.

  • 1 month later...

I'm planning on getting married at Le Kliff this November the 4th. So far it has been the best deal I've found. For $500 for the ceremony and $75 per person, i get the ceremony location, decorated with flowers and chairs with white covers. 3 course meal, and table set up (including center piece).

But I'm still looking around before I book that location.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
