Does anyone know if they offer a group discount? Also, does anyone recommend a certain travel agent? We're just starting off and can use some guidance.

The Reception prices seem rather steep considering it's an all inclusive! Hmm...

Sorry I can't help you on either count but please make sure that you do NOT use Luxe Destination Weddings. We have had nothing but problems from them since the day we hired them. Other girls are also having issues with them so if you are thinking of hiring them please make sure you do your homework first.

I just got back from SMB for our wedding and we did not get group a discount except on our room categories. Our guests only saved about $100 per person for their entire stay. There are occasionally really good deals through travel websites for booking air and hotel together.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Hi everyone! I'm in the process of choosing a resort for February 2012. I've narrowed it down to Secrets Maroma, Playacar Palace and The Royal Playa del Carmen. I just had a few questions for those of you who have visited SM... Is it a walkable distance to Playa del Carmen? If not, how far is the taxi ride? And I heard the marina for deep-sea fishing is nearby.. would anyone know how far away this is? And is the golfing next door?

Thanks very much! This will be super helpful in helping me (finally) make a decision.

If you are still trying to decide on a resort check out the Del Sol Wiki on this site. They have thousands of pictures from hotels all around Cancun and Riviera Maya.

All the hotels are categorized by area. Its really one of the best resources around. You can actually see what all the bridal areas look like at the hotels, Instead of just the photos that the hotels provide on their websites

Doesnt hurt that Del Sol and their Sister Company La Luna are the best photography companies around =) But they did a pritty good job with this resouce. I wish I would have had it around when I picked a hotel. It was probably the hardest choose I made.

Hi Jodster: I was married at SMB in '09 and I walked way down the beach and the marina for deep sea fishing is either the other way (towards Cancun) or not nearby enough to walk to. PDC by car is about a 20-30 minute drive depending on traffic and how crazy your taxi driver is. There's no true golf course next door but rather, if you sign up to golf at a course then transportation is provided in the cost though I don't know where exactly the golf course is. The concierge told us it wasn't far away.Hope this helps!

Hello Ladies, I have not posted anything in forever! My wedding is 12/6 coming up sooo fast! I need peoples opinion on the salon at the resort. Can people please let me know what there experience have been good or bad with using them either for a trial or there wedding day. Any idea on prices?

I am on the fence about bringing an outside vendor to do my hair and makeup, but I am trying to see if it will just be easier to do it at the salon on the resort. I want them to put in clip in extensions and false eyelashes.

Thanks! I hope that everyone is not as stressed out as I have been!

Anyone going to be at the resort from 3-13? That's when we will be there.

Only used the salon to get French Nail the day before. They were average. Had to be redone in 2/3 days. I was at the spa with my Mom and wasnt really paying attention, silly me for relaxing, and they must have missed a top coat. Anyway figure you cant see the difference in pics anyway. They redid them for free and they were quite nice the second time! I say with every service just be watching them. As an aside, the spa is quite beautiful! DH and myself got spend half a day at the resort after checking out, so we hanged out there, very nice. Enjoy your big day!

Fernando and his team did my hair and make up. He did an amazing job on the make up that included fake eyelashes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
