Wedding budget $5K and under

Recommended Posts

In regards to the 5K wedding, I think the all-inclusive resort seems like a great idea. The ceremony/reception packages at RIU are free for a basic package and up to $2,500 for an extravagant one. If your families can cover your flight and stay at the resort that will really cut your costs. I'm in the process of picking which Riu resort I like the best, there are so many to pick from....

We're separating everything through bags. We have several guests leaving out of our town, so since we're allowed 2 checked bags each, most of our guests are only taking one, and my in-laws are only taking a carry-on we're just dispersing the bags through everyone.

I used to work at the airport and know everyone who works out there, but they never charge me for overweight or extra bags. They don't even put them on the scale, they make me tag them myself! So weight isn't an issue, but I don't want to take too many bags that I have to bring back and get charged for.

For this you have to really stick to the package. Alot of the girls find extra things they want to have and have to purchase. The biggest being, that a lot of girls want a better photographer than what the hotel offers and a photographer will run you 1500+ and much more for a really good one.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
