Newbie... and doesn't know where to begin

Hello Everyone,

All I know is that my fiancee and I want a destination wedding... we haven't gotten much further than that so far! :)

My name is Karen and I've agreed to marry the kindest and most wonderful man I've ever met... Charles. We got engaged Sept 6 '08 and we were enjoying life as an engaged couple but now reality is setting in and the planning must begin.

We're looking to get married late Nov/early Dec 2009 and have at least been able to narrow our choice of destinations from the very many down to 4 (Rivera Maya, Bahamas, Curacao and St.Martin).

I've perused the forum and I'm definitely thankful for having found this site... I'm looking forward to hearing your ideas and conversing with any and all of you.

Cheers!

Karen

Hi Sandra,

I've got 2 cents to share re: Cabo as a destination.

We went to Cabo in April this year for my cousin's wedding... and we loved it! The weather was perfect (not too dry, not too humid), the water was incredible and the views... oh the views. We have some amazing photos from our trip. The resort we were in was the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas. The resort was excellent - clean and well maintained. The food was also good. We did a day trip into town and we did an sunset harbour tour (which was arranged for all of the wedding guests - something I would definitely recommend). There is a disco - although we did not go to it.

Hope this helps!

Karen

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
