Yeah we are getting pretty excited!!! I will be sure to post, asap, and post a review for you. I am pretty particular so if I am happy with how everything at the resort plays out on our wedding day, then you will have nothing to worry about! The cakes look awful at the resort (I hear they taste great though), so I think I am going to just cover it with lot's of flowers LOL

How much planning with the resort have you done yet, have you made any decisions regarding food, drinks, flowers, music, reception, ect.....

Hey Kelly,

How far ahead did you get your decisions made. I'm waiting to see how many guests before I get into the nitty-gritty. Wedding location is the only decision made (garden area) thus far (and that is subject to change once I get there if we see an even more beautiful spot!). Well, I do know about flowers and photog. But as far as resort decisions, I don't know how to decide yet or how soon I need to. How long have you been planning?

So excited for you! Can't wait to hear back about everything from a fellow DR bride!!!

Hi Kelly,

So exciting 27 days till you are married!! I am very excited for you and of course can't wait to see your pictures when you return. Are you using the resort photographer at all, or have you been in direct contact with him. Want him to send me some links to past video' s he has created prior to booking him.

Are you having your reception at La brasa??

So far I have lots already done, chosen colours, all bridal party plus boths sets of parents found their outfits & shoes, cake is picked, flowers well some what picked but I keep changing. I have all centrepieces bought and packed nicely away, decorations for ceremony have in mind.

So for the wedding still being 9 months away I feel good what has been accomplished so far:)

I have been in contact with the wc, I was really not a bride who bugged her too much, in the early stages, just some peliminary questions, prices, venue options, things like that. I still have not picked my flower's, I will do that when I get there, so I can see what they have (I know I want roses) I have chosen the trio, haven't picked songs yet, again I will talk with them when I get there, I have chosen my venue, talked table choices, told her I wanted the DJ for the reception, talked menu with my wc, but final decisions will be made once again when we get there. The cake I will again decide when there, I hear they are awful (taste good though) so I will do simple and add flower's. I have told my wc a little bit about what I want at te ceremony, and she has said we will confirm all that on arrival. The stuff I have really been working on is my own things, oot bags, table decor, things such as that. I would say that as long as your venue is chosen everything will fall into place, although there are no other bride's getting married on the day I am so it has made it much easier.

I heard that there was only 1 wedding a day there at OB/OS anyway, so that was a relief to me. I don't want it to seem like an assembly line, ya know?

So far, we've just chosen the ceremony location (gazebo) and that we want our dinner at LaBrasa. I've pretty much done nothing else!! HAHA!! This is going to be a simple laid back affair (don't they all start out that way?!), because we just don't have the money to go all crazy with all the extras.

We have a friend that *might* come to the wedding, if he does, we will pay him to do our pictures, otherwise, we will use the resort photog. I've seen their pictures, and they do a great job, at a reasonable price.

Flowers are going to be silk, will decide once I choose my dress. I'm having my dress made by a friend of mine, so no real rush on that either.

So far, much easier than the first wedding I planned when I was 22 and writing my honours thesis at the same time. LMAO.

Great site for DR wedding info ... but lacking as far as anything non DR-related.

This is still the best place for any wedding stuff ... but definitely check out the other forum for all things DR!

Not true, they do more then one wedding a day, I had someone get married earlier in the day in the same spot on the beach after I was told that I was the only wedding.

curious why the gazebo? it is really hot at the gazebo, there is no breeeze there (it is in the middle of the restauraunt area), the beach has a wonderul breeze that kept us all from roasting, just something to think about

The resort photographer really rushes you and be very clear. He didn't do as I asked which was lot's of pics of my kids. The packages are really pricy for what you get, which is very little time, and not many pictures for the money. Our package was $550.00 for 1 photographer,10 minutes before the ceremony, the ceremony, and 1/2hour after the ceremony. You get 50 pics, 50 copies, and a cd with your 50 pics on it.

They give you a free silk bouquet if you wish, I'm not sure how much choice.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
