Love the weight loss ticker, I'll have to set one up myself. I think it's great to have a place to chat with people who are losing weight for the same reason as I. Can't wait to chat with you ladies to see our progress. My plan is to put a great pic of Jamaica on the fridge for inspiration. Hopefully that, along with the FI (who is also following WW and has lost 32 lbs) will be enough to lose the weight that I want to before the big day. Point counting starts tomorrow and the first meeting on Wednesday. (that's why I'm pigging out tonight - jk lol) Looking forward to feeling great again!

So I've been fairly good my first week back to WW and it has paid off! Lost 2.8 lbs. this week and am feeling pretty good about it. I am extremely motivated to get this weight off so I can start trying on dresses! I plan on making the taco soup this weekend so hopefully next weeks weigh in will be even better!

What taco soup? Sounds great as I love tacos.

hey! just done my weigh-in, and as you can see from below - i lost 5lb!!woo hoo

i have been really really good, no crisps, no fizzy juice, and having either potatoes or bread - not both in one day...and it was even my bday yesterday and i was good - except i got lots of chocolates and i had a small packet of thorntons white buttons! thats as bad as i got all week, so i'm very pleased it paid off! i thought 2lbs would have been brilliant! i think i had alot of water retained tho! cheesy.gif

so i'm paying up for my gym membership this week instead of pay as you go, so i actually force myself to go! i can't wait actually!

aim for next week lose - 1lb please!! cheesy.gif

Congrats on an awesome job! Happy belated birthday as well! :) You'll lose the weight for next week also, I just know it!

Good for you for going to the gym. I had knee surgery about 7 weeks ago so I'm still recovering from that so I'm not able to do alot exercise wise. I work out with my physiotherapist to stenghten my legs so that's helping. We do have a bicycle here and I actually used it yesterday so I'm proud of myself for that.

Anyway, still watching what I eat and I'm off for my official weight-in on Wednesday. Have a good week ladies! :)

I would consider doing that too but I'm too embarassed to let my fiance know how much I weigh now! Uggh! Just more motivation to stay on track.
Then don't post the weight, post how much you want to lose and go from there. He can know how much you have to lose, can't he? :)

I'm going to go ahead and introduce myself!

I'm Amelia, and I'm getting married at a Sandals resort in St. Lucia July 2010. I need to lose about 20-25 lbs, and just started ww on friday! My mother and I are actually doing it together, because she wants to look good for the beach too!! I don't have the money to sign up for the meetings, but I found an online calculator, and my mom has been doing ww for a while and knows all the rules. I never knew how hard it would be! even the first day it was hard, because I like to snack!!! Kudos to ppl who do it for a long time!!"

I was super excited when I saw this thread get started up. I hope it will give me the motivation i need!!

When are you guys getting married, and where? Any tips for motivation? :)

Good luck!!

Oh! I hadn't even thought of that! What a great idea :) Yeah, I know he doesn't even care about how much I weigh, it's just me being silly. Thanks :)

OMG! That's fantastic Mrs. D!!!! and Happy Belated Birthday! Motivates me to try and do even better this week :) My goal is to lose at least 1.5 lbs (but hopefully 2) by next weigh in. Checking back in here is really helping to keep me on track too :)

It's a recipe I got from WW that's really yummy and good for you. It makes a huge batch so I just separate it into single servings and freeze it. I guess with all of the modifications I've made to it I should call it Taco flavored Vegetable soup now...lol :) I know it probably sounds weird to add zucchini to taco soup but I think it really beefs up the soup and it actually turns out more of like a chili than a soup. Adding more vegetables makes the soup/chili less points per serving too. This recipe is only 2 pts. per serving. Here it is in case anyone wants it:

Taco Vegetable Soup/Chili
16 servings
1C per serving
2 Pts. per serving

Ingredients:

5 C. diced carrots
1 C. diced onion
4 C. dicedq zucchini
7 oz can Diced green chiles
1 lb. Ground Turkey browned
29 oz can (3 1/2 C.) Pinto Beans (strained)
1 14.5 oz. can Diced Tomatoes
1 can (3 1/2 C.) yellow corn
1 packet taco seasoning
1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning mix
4 C fat-free chicken broth

Instructions

In a large pot brown ground turkey with onion. Add the rest of the ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 1 hr.

My kids don't like vegetables and even they like it! I usually grab one to take to work and eat it with a sandwich for lunch. I also like to have a cup for a snack if I get hungry in the evening. It's very filling for 2 points.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
