I'm trying to add my ticker. Not sure if this is how I do it.

My last attempt on WW was before I went to Jamaica in February. I lost ten lbs before I went and gained 5 while I was there. Since then, I've gained an additional 7lbs. I really need to lose the weight now. I really want to get motivated. The hardest part of it all is exercising. I would love to take some engagement pictures but looking at pictures of myself right now is horrifying. Any advice would be great.

Hey Adurrell

If you click on my ticker, it will take you to another site, and from there you can create your own. Then come back to this site, click "user cp" up the very top left hand corner of this page, and then click signature down the left...then copy the coding which was on the other site - it might be the coding you pasted in the post above...and preview..and it should be in your signature! woo hoo

I'd say exercise is a big part - find something that you enjoy, rather than just doing it because....otherwise you'll lose interest fairly quickly. I have always had a gym membership, but up until january this year, never been interested in going to classes, like body attack, lbt, body pump...but at the start of the year when I started this diet, I decided I needed to make drastic changes...and I've loved the classes - much better than slogging in the gym for an hour...and you get soo motivated by the people around you, trying to keep up and improve.

As for food wise, for the first 2 months of my diet I was extremely strict...1 takeaway a month, no snacking, fresh chicken or fish for dinner. Something that seemed to work really well for me was to limit to myself to either bread, pasta or potatoes each day - never more than one of these.

You have done the right thing starting early, because there are times during the diet that you won't lose anything. And if your anything like me, I fluctuated ALOT for the first 4 or 5 months during my that time of the month! Luckily its not like that anymore, but I was going up as much as 6lbs at one point!! Also, I went 6 or 7 weeks where I didn't lose a single pound - so remember to account for times when that happens.

Check in here as often as you need to, I know I did alot at the start! :)

Good luck with your first weigh in! :)

Great job Sandra!

Where are all my lovely ladies?!!?

So after 3 BAD eating weeks, my FI drove me to WW last night and told me to go in. I was putting it off because I was scared! lol Anyway, in 3 weeks, I ended up gaining 4 lbs. I am SO not happy about that in any way! I need help/advice. I can't seem to get this thing going this time and it's making me sad! sad.gif I need to lose weight so that I can be healthier and I know this, but for some reason, I feel like I'm sabotaging myself, which is completely stupid.

How are you ladies keeping at it every week??

lisaloo, i've been in the same funk for the last month! This week I was up another .4, but I'm back to tracking. That used to really help me before I became a lifetime member, and now I'm worried that I'm going to gain it all back. I have until Friday for weigh in, and I'm hoping I can turn it around before then.

Hey everyone...I just ran across this thread and thought I may be able to participate. I am not using WW, but am using sparkpeople instead to keep track and do weigh ins. I am getting married in April 2010 and would really like to lose 20 lbs. Since there is about 9 months in between now and then, I am hoping to be able to do so slowly. However, we will see what my body does.

I would love to keep myself accountable through these forums as well since I am on here all the time trying to figure out good DIY projects and things to consider about DW.

I just started tracking monday and am keeping a food diary. I exercise a fair amount for the most part, but my big thing is my diet. I love to eat bad. So hopefully I can join in with you girls! Thanks for starting this thread!

Lisa don't fret!! At least you are wanting to do something about it...maybe it will help you big style to keep going to the classes EVERY week so you get shamed into being good??

I'd say try bringing exercise in....maybe your metabolism isn't the quickest at the moment so you just need to give it a jump start.

Stick with it lady, and check in here every week even if its a gain...as the embarrassment should maybe kick you into gear?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
