I did find a dress that I tried on as a joke. Because I'm getting married in Mexico, I thought it would give me a Mexican/Spanish feeling but it may be a little too much for the beach. I really like the dress though Meredith - by Maggie Sottero

I just don't know what style of dress I'm looking for. I don't want it to be too informal because I still want to look like a bride but I don't want it to be too much for a beach destination wedding.

Some of what I thought are below.

PLEASE HELP ME WITH ANY OPINIONS!!!!feedback.gif

By the way, Hate to admit this but I am a perspirer (sp?) so I need to think of what I will be the most comfortable in
I don't think you should stress this too much especially since you have a lot of time left.
Personally, I think you're on the right track. Of the ones above, I really like the Demetrios Destination Romance & the Maggie Sottero Meg.
Don't worry about the dress being too casual or too formal. You don't have to fit a certain mold. Just go with what you really like/want. The most impt thing is how you feel in the dress. Trust me, you will feel like a bride no matter which type of dress you get.
Just keep looking, try on different styles, take some pictures...have some fun! It will all come together & sometimes when you least expect it.

First of all, don't stress... believe me, I completely understand how you feel (I have many threads on here freaking out about not loving any dresses; and not knowing what I wanted).

If I were you, I would go and try on any dresses that appeal to you aesthetically and see how they look on your body type. Dresses I thought would fit my body type sometimes looked awful and some that I thought would look awful really flattered me.

As far as the 'proper' beach wedding dress is concerned... it's your wedding. I have seen so many amazingly beautiful pictures of brides in ornate gowns on the beach and then some in more casual styles that looked just as gorgeous on this forum. Do whatever feels right to you and then structure your wedding around that- not what you think is proper.

For the perspiration issue, I think that as someone else already said.. satin may be tough. Cancun will be hot. In anticipation, I would try out some of the stronger antiperspirants that they have now in the stores; the "prescription strength" and see how they work well before the wedding.

I see you are in Pa; but if you ever venture into NYC, I highly recommend RK Bridal as a good place to try on dresses. They have so many dresses there of all shapes and sizes ... so you can try on all styles and not be limited to what a small boutique may have. That is where I ended up finding my dream dress after looking for almost 6 months and literally going to almost every bridal shop in NYC and NJ.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
