Hi Girls!

I have a general question! It cost me 560$ this morning at the Dominican Republic consulate to get my documents translated. Is this normal??!

If so, just a heads up for the others that they only accept cash once there so be prepared! i was DEFINETLY not expecting it to be this much, but I guess it's just the shock and awe that it's the first I've heard of this huge expense.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks MexicoBride! Are you sure that is what you paid for the translation and the admin fees?
Checked with my T.A and she said it was normal, but did anybody else pay only 300$ cause now I feel ripped off!!

Thanks girls!

Depends on if you needed the Divorce Decree done. Have either of you guys been married? If so, that would add on another translation & legalization fee. I believe they charge

$40 translation of each BC

$40 translation of each Single Status Affidavit (SSA)

$40 translation of each Divorce Decree

$100 legalization of each SSA

$100 legalization of each Divorce Decree

(BC does not need to be legalized, just "stamped")

Hope this helps :)

Morning ladies, my fiance and I are still trying to narrow down our resort choices for our wedding and are considering the Majestic, but were hoping some of you wonderful brides could share your experiences in planning or if you've been to the resorts - we're trying to decide if one is better suited for us then the other.

Any comments would be most helpful at this time.

thanks :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
