Majestic Colonial or Elegance Brides Post Here

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else having trouble sending emails to Sandra/wedding coordinators?

I'm trying to reply back to an email Sandra sent me, but I've gotten a delivery failure message on my 2 attempts. My first try, I just clicked on "reply", and the second time, I copied and pasted the address (weddings1@majestic-resorts.com) in, but no luck.

anyone know what's going on? has the email address changed?

sorry if i'm asking a question that's already been addressed!

thanks!

okay so i wanted to do Majestic Colonial, but I just read some reviews that said the beach/water has a lot of coral, so bring water shoeshuh.gif This kind of freaks me out, the whole point of going is because I wanted a nice Tropical Beach! I went to a resort in Puerto Rico before, and couldn't even go in the ocean because there was so much coral. I don't want this to happen here.

Has anyone been to the Colonial, or heard anything different about the beach?>

a lot of coral !!!

Since I can reassure you I have lived here for 11 years and bathe almost daily on the beach ,you have no problems here on the beach with corals!!

I had no problems with the beach. The swimming area is closed off for your comfort. Maybe if you went outside the marked lines, then maybe you'd have a problem. I never new there was coral close by until you mentioned it :)

I was just there the first week of June for my site visit for our wedding and I am a picky beach goer when it comes to my feet touching things. I can honestly say the beach and water are beautiful! The do clear out a swimming area and I know there is some coral in the ocean where you may kayak and things but you really aren't supposed to swim in there. I normally bring water shoes to the beach on the east coast but never have I to swim in the caribbean...I love that you can see to the bottom so you don't need them!

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
