Hi Lori

I seems to depend entirely on who you are assigned as your wedding coordinator.

Many of the brides who I have spoken to seem to wait for sometimes a week or more to hear back.

I have been fortunate enough to be dealing with Maritee Garces and she typically gets back to me within 24 hours. Her email address is weddings@majestic-resorts.com

Hopefully you hear something soon!!

Hi Korie,

I might be able to help you answer a few questions....

I'm not entirely sure on this but I don't believe that there is a bar close to the beach that is open during the evening. However, I may be wrong.

Have you considered holding your reception at the Parrot Bar? This is what we intend to do as we had the same feelings towards the open bar prices, especially considering it is an all-inclusive resort! There is a public bar that is within a few strides of the Parrot Bar!

You are free to bring your own photographer, and if they are staying there as part of your group then you won't even have to worry about getting a day pass for them! As for other entertainment, you would have to double check with the wedding coordinator.

We are having our dinner at the Seafood restaurant! I asked Maritee about the difference and she said that they have the same menu available for both restaurants (surf and turf). The restaurants even share the same building. So I believe the only difference is the decor.

From what I have heard, they should have a blast!

Hope this helps :)

Is 1pm too early for the ceremony? I am not sure what the weather is like to determine.
I have heard that 2 or 3pm is a good time for your ceremony in Nov/Dec. Mine is at 3pm in Nov. Ask Josh Brown he may know what time is better for that month.

Thanks! I finally actually emailed all three of the coordinators listed on the site yesterday, including Maritee, so maybe I'll hear back soon.

Hey Ladies,

I am not going to be married on Dec 29 at the Majestic, I was sad to cancel it but it's just tooo expensive to go there at Christmas/New Years. I can't ask people to pay almost $3K to go for a week. Now, I feel like I am back to square one! smile35.gif

I still want to consider the Majestic, but since I am having it in May or June 2010 now I am thinking prices at other places will also be more competitive...I got a quote from a TA who said it will be 1800 pp plus taxes in May 2010 to the Majestic...still seems a little high to me, if we were going this year it would be about 300-400 cheaper than that...so, I am not sure what to do!! I have contacted another TA to get a quote, so we'll see how that turns out...

Just thought I would update you guys since I am not longer a Dec 29 bride!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
