Majestic Colonial or Elegance Brides Post Here

Recommended Posts

I initially communicated with Sandra in the wedding department. She told me she would help me and to contact her closer to the day. I emailed her this weekend and received a response from the 'groups' department at [email protected]

Not sure if it is becuase I am getting married off the resort? I also asked about a cocktail hour. We do not want to pay extra. I have not responded yet as she emailed me a form to complete with everyone's room reservation numbers and I just received it back from our TA

The Jellyfish has a bus (and a really nice bus, at that...) that will come and pick up your group and drop them off later for $5 per person.  If you email Mayte, she can send you the list of everything that they offer.  She doesn't always answer quickly, but she will answer you...

We were in the same boat, but we are keeping our ceremony at the ME and then heading to the JF to eat, drink, and dance.

How much was your wedding and reception at the Jellyfish?  I hadn't thought about doing this but everything seems to be adding up so quickly at ME.  How did your guests get from ME to Jellyfish?

We had our ceremony at the MC and then went to the Jellyfish for our reception on Dec 2/11 and it was amazing! I haven't had a chance to get my review written but I plan on posting a review under the jellyfish thread next week. In total we only spent $3900 at the Jellyfish and that included transport(its $6 per person as they switched companies), cocktails, dinner, drinks(we just had an open bar for everyone), decorations, cake pickup(we just used the one we received from the Majestic and Mayte decorated it for us), flowers for the tables, and firedancers. It was by far the best decision we made to switch our reception here. All of our guests were so amazed and said it was the highlight of the trip. Feel free to PM me or email me if you have any questions. My email is [email protected]

Sandra told me she was away at the beginning of January..  Maybe she has already left and the "groups" email is her auto responce so any emails that get sent to her get dealt with while shes away?

Our wedding is Feb 3, we are budgeting about $3,500 to $4,000 depending on the 'extras' I am waiting to hear back from Mayte about our menu selections as we hope to pick our own menu (selecting some of the a la carte options)  I wanted to stay at Dreams and have the free ceremony (we did not think we would qualify, and I still do not think we qualify for the free wedding at ME); however, my FI really wanted to stay at ME. We are very happy with our resort selection at ME but we were shocked at how much the little things added up for weddings at ME! We also like the more private feel of the Jellyfish. Transportation is $6 now I think. There are some really great reviews on here for the Jellyfish and there are a couple of threads on here

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
