Don't quote me on this...I have heard rumors that people staying at the MC may be charged a day pass to the ME, but to go from the ME to MC is fine.  I guess because the ME is higher priced, they don't want MC guests taking advantage of everything that they didn't pay for.  But really, who's gonna know during the day if they are in the pool or on the beach....I would double check with the resort....

Hello ladies! I am in need of some advice. Our wedding ceremony is at 3pm and since the dinner isn't until 6:30 I'm not exactly sure what to do with our guests for the approx. 2.5 hours in between. I know you can have a cocktail hour in one of the bars and order hors d'oeuvres but not sure my FI will agree with me on that since you have to pay extra for the food. I just feel bad leaving my guests with free time when they are dressed up (we are doing beach formal attire). I highly doubt people will want to go swimming or back to their rooms. Any past brides have any advice?!

Thanks!!

Hi Jenna326

Our wedding is at 1pm and dinner at 6:30.  I did look into a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres but after seeing the menu and its prices we decided against it. When I asked our WC what our guests would do in between she said they could go for a late lunch, hang out at the pool....lol  She was not pushy at all about selling me on the cocktail hour.  Keep in mind you will be busy...after your ceremony you will have your champagne toast and photos I'm sure.  The in between time could be used to head back to their rooms to freshen up and relax before your reception.

You could tell guests to meet in one of the bars around 5 or 530 for a few drinks before dinner. Then the gap between the ceremony and dinner won't seem as long

I have an even greater problem.  My wedding starts at 1pm! :/ (the "only" time available that day).  I have NO idea what my guests will do for 5 hours! Of course I will do groups pics but maybe there is something else we can do as a group.  Seems like such a looooong time.  :(  Any suggestions?

not sure if everyone will want windblown hair but maybe a little boat cruise?? I know it adds an additional expense though... or, you could do a group lunch instead of dinner, then have some downtime before drinks and dancing or whatever you are doing (if anything) for a reception later?

That was my other idea. I think I like that better than having to pay for app's. I guess a little break in between would hurt anyone, it would prob. be refreshing.

Thanks for your help!

My wedding is at 1pm as well (only time the judge was available).  I too was stressing about this huge gap but I'm sure the guests will understand.  We might have everyone meet up in the upstairs piano bar an hour before dinner.

Hello

I'm getting married at 1pm also and I booked a private dinner at the Parrot Bar at 6:30. I know there will be champagne and group pictures but my question is, are you going to change or you will stay with the wedding dress? I loved my dress so much that I don't want to wear for only an hour or two... ;)

Are you guys doing?

Another thing, does anybody know how much the orchid bouquet is?

What are you guys giving as a favour? What about the decoration, are you bringing things with you?

Bettina

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
