We did this too.  We had originally planned to have a rehearsal dinner with just the wedding party... then add spouses and my parents.... then we just said what the heck, invite everyone!  So we showed up that night and they pulled together seating for about 25 people on the spot.  And the service was fantastic!

Thanks Oryx

Thats good to know. I would perfer to do my welcome dinner at one of the restaurants rather than buffet if I am not charged an additional fee. You would think you could use your dinner reservation for up to 60 any time you are there, not necessarily the wedding date only. Bummer. I guess we will just call ahead or show up. If anyone has any other suggestions or ideas, please post. :)

The rehearsal dinner was at the steakhouse restaurant, but we did in fact have our welcome dinner at the buffet.  Not all of our guests arrived on the first night, but we really wanted to unload some of our loot bags and see everyone and exchange room numbers, etc.  The buffet seemed like a good option because people were tired and just getting their bearings and it was easy to find.  There were 17 of us and it was not a problem to get seating for us.  Everyone was excited and mingling and the buffet provided a nice, casual atmosphere for us to chat and for people to get to know eachother.

Our server at the buffet was Alfredo and he was awesome!  Someone mentioned that we were getting married and he pulled the band over to play for us and dance and sing... it was great!   There was this short little waiter guy shakin' what his mama gave him... it was a riot.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
