Anybody use Video Punta Cana for their wedding? I just saw a great video on FB from them was curious how much they cost. Also do we have to pay that fee in order for them to shoot on site ($300?)? I like BrightLights which is part of the resort but not as much as Video Punta Cana.

I know it may seem costly, but it is totally worth it. Their decorations actually exceeded my expectations - the tables were beautiful. The package included the chair sashes, which were also on the chairs for the ceremony. There were also table runners, and it included the centerpieces. They put little stones on the tables, and had menus. I have a picture that I will attempt to post - not sure how that will turn out! :)

I would love to see pictures of the decorations as well. This is one thing I'm waffling on ;-)

I'm waffling on this too... my budget is getting a little out of control! If you buy the reception decoration package, and they bring the chair sashes to the ceremony also, then what is the $348 ceremony decorations for that is listed in the extras? Is that just for the aisle runner? (They say there is a floral arrangement included in the wedding package for the signing table already that is free).

Does anyone know about children's rates for Majestic Elegance? I checked with my TA and she informed me there is no child' rate there. That seems strange. My niece will be almost 4 and obviously not boozing or barely eating much. That doesn't seen fair that she has to pay an adult price. Does anyone know of another way of approaching this?

I posted the best pictures I have of the table decorations already - sorry I don't have more! I would definitely not pay the extra money for ceremony decorations. I didn't because I didn't want the extra expense, and the gazebo looked beautiful anyway (not sure where your ceremony is). I didn't really expect anything except the chair sashes, but there were flower petals along the aisle, and there was a flower arrangement on the table - the same one that was on the escort card table at the ceremony (I think the same floral arrangement you mention). Here are some pictures so you have an idea.

Hey Wendy,

We got quotes from a number of Canadian companies and they all provided child rates for both the ME and the MC. We found that the MC had a much better rate for the kids, which is what made our decision for us, as we have a few guests coming with kids. We were quoted prices with early booking discounts, but those discounts didn't apply to the child rates, which almost made the adult price and the kids price the same. It didn't make any sense to me either. The only way you get a break is if the child is considered an infant, which is under 2, then they are free. I'm not sure if there is any way around this, hopefully your TA can help you out a bit more. Sorry I'm not much help!

Thanks so much! My ceremony is also in the gazebo, so that puts my mind at ease. Thanks again :)

These are the rates I got for the MC from Toronto (departing January 29, 2011):

☼ $1280.00 per person + $330.00 taxes ($1610 total per person, based on double occupancy)

☼ $842.00 per child (age 2-12) + $330.00 taxes ($1172 total per child when sharing a room with 2 adults)

It isn't that much better, but a small difference. Not sure about the ME though.

hi chendy -

i am a travel agent, and i can assure you that you CAN get a child rate at the Elegance. it is a matter of what supplier your travel agent goes through. i don't know if things are different in the States (i am in canada), but i checked a few of my suppliers and the child rate is about $300 less than the adult rate.

good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
