Awesome Ali!

I'm so happy that the rain didn't affect your mood. It really is hard to have a "bad" time there. I'm so glad you had Phil on your day as well. He really steps up and takes care of business!

Was that your picture he posted in the facebook group?

Congrats Ali! Sounds like a beautiful time, despite the rain. I just met Phil on Saturday and I'm so happy he'll be there to guide me through it all. Please share some pictures, if you get a chance, and congrats again. :)

Hello fellow brides!! My fiancé proposed to me at the Majestic Colonial on April 7, 2010, so this resort is very dear to me! I was so overwhelmed with excitement that I didn't even thinking about visiting the WC on our last remaining day, even though we both have always planned to have a DW.

We're hoping to return next spring for our wedding, but the prices are so steep that I'm concerned our guests are going to have an issue.

Does anyone have any booking suggestions? I'm afraid to take the plunge without waiting it out a bit... Has anyone booked this resort 6 months in advance without problems?? Any good travel strategists out there?! Although our trip in April was a last minute deal, it worked out to $1409/person incl. tax.

Cristina I'm not sure about rates for Spring, but I have been getting group rates coming back around $1,600 per person for early January my travel agent suggested to wait a little bit but that normally the sale/last minute rates aren't that much cheaper and sometimes aren't available for the Colonial. Not sure if this is true...but it's what I was told. Congrats on your engagement!! Good luck with everything!

Lisa and Pam - glad to hear from some January brides!! What location and times did you go with for your ceremonies? Are you doing a private dinner or reception?

hi jkgirl!

we are doing a symbolic beach ceremony with Pastor York at 4pm.

we are having the included dinner at the steakhouse, and then having a private reception at the Parrot or Wet Bar (depending on the number of guests)..

...i am also waiting on some better rates for January. i am a travel agent, and am getting impatient with myself...LOL.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
