Can anyone help with some details around the documents needed to be translated and whether you need to send them ahead of time or just bring them along? Also, do you have to have them translated at the consulate or can you have them translated privately and just get them "stamped or something" at the consulate. We are getting married in late June so wondering how long you need to get all this together. We are both divorced so I assume we need divorce decrees, etc...but what else? Does ME give guidance at some point on this stuff?

Just letting you know that I called the resort today and they said CLAUDIA is no longer there... For those of you like me who have been working with her and havent received an email in a couple of days. I spoke to Wardez. The reason I called is because there was a post on Facebook indicating that brides can not bring in an outside DJ. This is only true for new brides who have yet to book. Wardez indicated that all brides who have booked would be ok with the DJ they have already contracted with. I did express my frustration with now having to work with another wedding coordinator. I know this is not their fault but can be a bit stressful when you feel as though you have to re-communciate your details to someone new.

Hi Everyone!

 

My fiance and I are getting married March 19th at Majestic Elegance. We hadn't read all of the great things about DJ Mannia when we decided to have one of our friends MC our reception and play DJ (his occupation is similar). Anyway, we planned for him to do this from our laptop (itunes, windows media, etc). Our reception is outdoor on the pool deck.

 

Does anyone know how possible this is? Will it be fairly easy to set up our own music to play for the reception? What about only using an ipod?

 

Also, who sets up the music for the wedding ceremony? Do you simply pass them a CD to play? Is the music loud enough outside?

 

Thanks a bunch. We are so excited to get down there in three weeks. Everyone on this forum has been so helpful. We enjoy reading each story.

My fiance and I bought a bose ipod dock and we are using that for our reception and possibly our ceremony by making playlists. I may just give a CD for the ceremony not sure yet! But I know brides have done both!

Ladies, i'm currently trying to work out details for the reception after the wedding.

I don't want to spend more then I have to and was thinking about a regular restaurant at the Elegance Resort because of that.

But then, thinking that I will probably have less then 20 guests coming with us, what could be the next best choice price-wise to have a private reception? Since we are Russians, drinking will be involved, I did want to have a reception somewhere closer to the bar, so I wouldn't have to pay fro drinks in All Inclusive Resort...or am I being too naive now and we will end up paying a lot of $$$ for the private reception?

 

I will be reading this thread more and hopefully will find mor einfo, but if you can share any information on what you are doing I will appreciate it.
