Sheen,

Have you had any luck getting in touch with the WC? My wedding is in 2 months and I don't have any of the details planned. Do you already have the receptions deails, flowers, etc booked? Or are you waiting until you arrive at the resort?

Just curious!

Thanks!

Hi Sadyi,

Congrats!!

I did a site visit this past august and i was able to make a lot of decisions when i visited; there was however a different WC at the time. We do have a few more things we need to finalize before the wedding.

Nayeli normally gets back to me no later then a week after i send an email. I know that she is super busy planning all these weddings so i understand if i dont' get a quick response.

Our ceremony is going to be the beach at the gazebo, cocktail hour is on the pier and our reception is also on the beach as well.

in regards to flowers, i've been working through that with Nayeli now.

Do you have an idea of what you want for the wedding ceremony? I have some pictures from when we did the visit so let me know if you want me to send you some pictures.

Just a note too: I was able to get a lot of ideas by looking at the del sol pictures on the forum. If you search them under the wiki tab you can look for weddings that have taken place there for some great ideas. This realy helped be see the resort and what there was to offer before doing the site visit.

Hope this helps!

Sheen,

Thank you so much for your post, it was soooo helpful!!

I looked through some of the pictures you mentioned and they were so helpful!

We are planning to have the ceremony on the beach as well.  We will have 40-45 people so I was thinking the Pier may be too small for us.

I do have a couple questions for you: What are you doing for music for your reception??  I want to do a DJ but it is $1,200 on the price list.  Also, are you doing a Welcome / Rehearsal dinner??

Thanks again for your help. You must be getting excited! I'm from RI, I notice you are from NY, so you must be just as excited to see some warm sun as a I am....it's been one hell of a winter!!

Congrats! I am getting married there on July 16th & am so excited. I wanted to find out if you know when we make all our choices (location, flowers, cake, ect). Do we do this when we arrive or beforehand? Also, I would love to see your pics but the links don't seem to be working...

Hi Saydi,

Yes I am from NY and cannot wait to be in the warm sun! it has been a hell of a winter :)  We leave in 2.5 weeks and we are super excited.

We are having about 32 people at the wedding so we did decide to get the DJ. We do agree that it's a little steep, but we do not want to worry about keeping up with an ipod.

We are getting married on May 7th so we are having a welcome dinner on May5th (Cinco De Mayo). the resort has a mexican fiesta that they do to celebrate and they are going to set up some tables for our guests. We thought it could be fun to celebrate the culture and didn't want to pay extra for anything. it just worked out this way and most of our guests will be arriving that day!

I have emailed her twice & still haven't heard anything back.  My wedding is 1 & 1/2 months away & I have some questions for her.  Hopefully we will all hear something soon.  I understand that she is busy, but it is frustrating sometimes!

Hi Ladies,

I am getting married at ERC on July 16, 2011 on the beach & am so excited!

I have a couple of questions I hope you ladies can help me with. Does anyone know what restaurants are closed on Saturdays for the reception & what other options there are besides the Foyer. Ramon had said I could have my reception dinner at The Lobster House, it just would not be private. Now Nayeli is saying I can't have it there at all. I am so bummed we were really looking forward to The Lobster House. I am hoping to have it somewhere that is open aired or outdoors.

As for the cocktail hour I think we might have it on the pier. Has or is anyone doing theirs on the pier?

Is anyone playing music from their iPod or bringing a CD they made? If so, what are you using to play it?

Does anyone know why Ramon is no longer there??? He seemed way more flexible than Nayeli...

Thanks,

Julie

Jewels,

I am also getting married on a Saturday.  Here is the info that Nayeli sent me in regards to the reception:

On Saturdays our available venues are:

Garibaldi Square, Foyer area and Barcelona restaurant.

The Garibaldi square is outdoors and looks lovely.  She sent me pictures, if you send me your email address I can forward them along to you.

Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
