I am getting married at ERC on the 30th of April! I recently email Ramon as well and i have not heard anything back. Now it all makes since. He is no longer there!!! This is madness. We have so much money invested into this and I cannot understand why they cannot be more organized and keep their staff.

Honestly, I don't know what I am supposed to be doing as of now. I cannot choose wedding colors or themes if I don't know what options I have when i get there.

Have any of you been given options for colors and decor? Options for hairstyles? Cakes? At this point I am worried that I don't even have my date anymore! I do have all my emails but if they don't honor them, then there is nothing I can do at the end of the day.

Any advice or info you guys can offer will be very helpful. Any brides that have gotten married there recently or are soon to be married there that can offer advice and or experience would be so great right now.

Sincerely

Stressed Bride

It has been awhile since this thread has been active, but I wanted to post this in case you are still waiting for help!!

I am getting married at ERC on March 28, 2011.  I had been working with Ramon as well and was surprised when Nayeli responded to my email instead.  So far she has done an awesome job of answering my questions thoroughly.  She hasn't been very prompt with her replies, but I've learned that if she doesn't respond in 3 days... resend the email.  She replies with a couple hours after I resend the same email and always apologizes for the delay in her response.  I'm sure she is VERY stressed with taking over for Ramon.  I visited ERC in September, visited with Ramon and saw all of their options.  As for color scheme... they will have ANY color you want - seriously.  I didn't believe him until I saw the huge book of fabrics.  Not only do they have any color, but they have several types of fabrics as well!  I had slight confusion with the bouquets I chose as Ramon told me the flowers would be included in the Gold package and Nayeli told me that I would have to pay a small amount because my bouquets include cybidium orchids.  I let her know that Ramon had already okayed them and she honored that without question.  My suggestion is NOT to freak out.   After seeing the resort and meeting ALL the staff... they will make your vision a reality.  I have a lot of information and will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

When I visited in September I spent a day at the spa... OMG!  That was an amazing experience.  The staff ther is awesome.  I am going to trust them to do my hair and my make-up.  I might bring my own make-up and will bring a picture of the hairstyle I want.  I have heard great things about the hairstylists there.  They are so eager to please that I'm sure they will work at it until they get it just right!  I'm going to attach all the information that Ramon sent to me at the beginning of my planning process.  Hopefully that will help!

I also suggest not to freak out.  I am getting married at the ERC on April 15, 2011.  I have also had good relations with Nayeli so far.  There has been some confusion on price between Ramon and Nayeli, but I think I will be able to work everything out once I am there in person.  I am also going to use someone else's advice and keep all of my emails from Nayeli.

I think it is also important to realize what is really important for you for your wedding and focus on those things.  I have not done a site visit, but I have vacationed at the ERC twice in the past few years.  I have never had any slight experience that would even remotely make me worried that they will not take care of my wedding day very professionally and it will be a wonderful day that I wil cherish forever.

Aliole,  thanks so much for posting those pdf files.  My FI and I decided this week that the ERC is going to be the site for our wedding next November and seeing all the options and knowing that the WC is good really puts me at ease that we made the right choice.  Thanks again!

Really? Is that a normal thing at other resorts too? Seems kind of strange to me for a Mexican AI resort but then again I haven't been to Mexico in like 5 years when I was a bit younger, single and staying 2/3* at a party resort... hmmmm.... so maybe that's why it wasn't a requirement?

I figured that one out as I have the same problem... The reason you can't open them is you have too few posts on the site. Once you hit 150 posts you can open the attachments, otherwise you can pay $30 to bypass the need for multiple posts. A bit annoying because when you are first planning a wedding you want to get all the info you can right?! But yeah, oh well... I guess just post away or pay the fee.

We are planning to get married March next year but just need to figure out a date and resort. Have narrowed it down to 4 which is a start but what I really need is a good TA from Canada, preferably in Vancouver. What makes it harder is that I live in London (UK).. we are originally from Vancouver but have been living in the UK for over 3 years HOWEVER we are moving back in the fall plus most of our guests would be flying from the Vancouver area so it makes sense to work with someone from there... how about yourself?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
