Just thought I'd leave my comments on my wedding at ERC. I think incredible sums things up quite nicely. We got married 19th March 2010 and Ramon was our wedding co-ordinator. I can't speak highly enough of him, he really was fantastic. He went above and beyond for us. We chose the gold package but there was only ourselves and our parents so I think Ramon went the extra mile with the decoration, and if he didn't then the package was well worth the price. He took all of our requests seriously and the flowers, decoration, colour scheme and service was faultless. I had my hair and make-up done at the spa and was made to feel like a princess, being served champagne whilst I sat and relaxed. I paid extra for my nails to be done, but they made a brilliant job of them. We used Juan for our photographer and I'm extremely critical when it comes to photos of myself but I love our wedding pics, we had to do the cheesy shots but to be honest it was all just such good fun. The resort itself was amazing, we stayed in the excellence club area but mainly just to get that honeymoon feel away from our parents :-) Our parents were blown away with the standard suites and to be honest there wasn't a great deal between the two but i think for that extra special occasion and some privacy from your party the upgrade is worth it, however it is very expensive. Food, entertainment, drinks etc all brilliant, never experienced such quality from an all inclusive hotel. I could stay on here forever talking about our dream wedding but I'll leave it there. If anyone has any questions i'll be more than happy to answer them, just send me an e-mail. I know how desperate I was for information before we got there. One other thing I will say though, I spent hours e mailing Ramon about all different requirements and really shouldn't have worried, when we met him he spent plenty of time with us going through all our needs in detail and like I said, he certainly delivered! x

I am a little less then 5 months away and I also feel like i have nothing really to do. All i have left is to send out my invites and find favors and stuff to include in our welcome bag.

Currently i am trying to finalize the wedding dinner menu so that i can include 2 options for our guests with our invitations.

Can any of the brides who have gotten married at ERC share your experience with the dinner menu for the reception? Are there any recommendations of anything that is really tasty and is a must have???

Don't even stress about the menu! When we got there we decided between the two packages, even though ours only included the silver package for dinner. You can customize your menu as well, don't feel like you're set one one thing. We had two options (one being something off the room service menu we loved!) and mixed and matched the rest. They do not have a buffet though, it is all sit down, and trust me, it is worth it. The food is great!

When we visited ERC in August for our site visit we spoke to Ramon regarding multiple options for our guests dinner as he said normally they only offer 1. Everyone so far has said that they have had 2 options of dinner for our guests.

Because we loved the lobster house so much when we visited, we requested Surf & Turf for one of our dinner options. In order to include the lobster tail, we would pay 10$per person for every person that ordered. I wonder if this is why i need to give numbers up front?? Anyway... i have reached out to Ramon to confirm again because i would prefer not to include the options on the RSVP card.

krmiller,

Ramon advised that they can do a buffet, however i think they only do this for groups larger then 50. It also depends on where you will be having your reception. I didn't get too much information on this but he did say it was possible. You may want to inquire with him again if this is something you are really interested in.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
