Sandals Resorts DW Brides 2009 - Jamaica, St. Lucia, Antigua & Bahamas

Recommended Posts

If you are traveling for May- you probably have the best rate that you are going to get unless something drastic happens. In the last two weeks I have seen the prices for St. Lucia go up and I expect them to continue to do so.

If you are on a budget the deluxe room at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian will be quite nice- it won't have the in room mini bar or the 24 hr room service that a concierge room has but you'll have plenty of bar & food options at your disposal.

I like the concirge rooms when we go as my husband can have a drink while I am getting ready and not bug me ! Plus it's really relaxing ordering breakfast or a late night munchie to have with a bottle of wine on our balcony!

I am not a Sandals bride, but am a Sandals honeymooner, the Sandles Grande in St. Lucia for May 2009!

We are having a hard time figuring out how to get the best deal on the best rooms, or at least what our options are. We are on a tight budget and are currently booked for just the regular rooms there. Thoughts or suggestions on this? Any ideas?! Thanks!!!

Thanks for all the great info, TA Jennifer, and all the other brides. 60 more days until our wedding at SGOR!! I can't believe how time is flying.

Just the two of us are going to be attending our wedding, so we're going to have the free reception. The first dance and cake will give us a chuckle since it'll be just us! But we booked a candlelight dinner on the beach for afterward so that should be a nice way to spend the evening :)

TA Jennifer, we are staying in a Riviera Deluxe Room in the Bamboo Grove Building at SGOR. Are these generally good rooms? We definitely wanted to be on the Riviera side to be part of the action. I'm starting to feel jealous of the concierge idea...lol As you said, it would be really relaxing to have room service and 24 munchies and a mini-bar, especially as it IS our honeymoon! Maybe I'll have to consider upgrading...

Thanks again!

The candlelight dinner on the beach sounds like a perfect ending for just the two of you!

Can't wait to see pictures...

We just booked our wedding at Sandals Negril for 9/10/09. With the great sale going on we got a suite with a private pool and butler. I can't wait! For the ceremony we are doing the basic free one since it's just the two of us. Except I saw pics of the flowers and they are not great so I may upgrade those. Any idea what the upgrade charges for flowers are?

Hey JKauf. I e-mailed my wedding coordinator to ask about that and she sent me a catalogue and price list of flower upgrades right away. Someone also posted those exact files in another thread, but I can't remember where lol (new to the forum). They ranged from about $80-$200, but look much better than the free ones. (of course!)

Anjeec...i'm sure TAJennifer will give you lots more info, but just from what I've heard, Negril is gorgeous...beautiful sunsets, amazing beaches, more secluded and romantic. We wanted to go there but couldn't pass up the great deal at SGOR. My brother and his wife stayed at MoBay and they both really enjoyed it; my brother enjoyed it more because he likes action...there's a lot of activity during the day and a great beach. They had a room near the piano bar and couldn't sleep so well because people were having a blast late...that sounds great to me, but if you like it quieter I think Negril is better. Also, I've heard that you can hear the planes overhead all day at the beach at MoBay, since that's where the airport is. I liked the sound of the fun at MoBay, but didn't want the sound of airplanes during my wedding ceremony! I'm pretty sure Negril is more expensive...

Good luck!

Hello Jennifer! I'm very interested in the idea of a wedding at a Sandals location. We are wanting to get married in August 2009, but haven't chosen a location as of yet. We know that we don't want Mexico, though. Also, we just came back from the Dominican, so we would like something different. I'm just concerned about the weather patterns that time of year, but I'm a teacher so it's more practical.

We live in Massachusetts, but close to the Connecticut border so we will be leaving out of Hartford (Boston if it's cheaper). We like the idea of an all inclusive.

I have a daughter that is 8 that will be traveling with us and possibly his daughter, who will be 1 1/2 by summer, so I'm also looking into your "family" resort also. They would be staying for 3 days and flying back with family.

It would be OK with us to all stay at the "family" resort, then after the ceremony go to Sandals. OR As long as everyone, including the kids (just for the ceremony) could "guest"....we could stay at Sandals the whole time OR stay at the "family" resort the entire stay. We are open to suggestions and pricing.

There will be 7 adults and 2 kids attending...4 rooms....for 3 days. We would like to stay for 1 week or possible up to 2 weeks.

For 3 of the adults.... we would be paying for their air also (and 2 rooms), and for the 2 of us. The other 4 adults, we would be paying for just the hotel (2 rooms), unless there was a good package including their flights.

I'm so confused right now. I just want to be able to decide on a location and then begin discussing specials, pricing, etc....

I would like to put a deposit down within the next few weeks. I would def. feel alot better. It's like everything is truely contigent on another.... can't set a date without a place....without a location....and so on.

Jessie and I are easy going and just want to keep things simple. We are open to suggestions of any kind. Hopefully you can help! He's been married before....and I haven't, so we just want everything to be nice and done tastefully.

Thankyou

Jennie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
