Just 2 things I found online.

Dr. Jack Newman, member of the LLLI Health Advisory Council, says this in his handout "More Breastfeeding Myths":
Reasonable alcohol intake should not be discouraged at all. As is the case with most drugs, very little alcohol comes out in the milk. The mother can take some alcohol and continue breastfeeding as she normally does. Prohibiting alcohol is another way we make life unnecessarily restrictive for nursing mothers.

Thomas W. Hale, R.Ph. Ph.D., member of the LLLI Health Advisory Council, says this in his book Medications and Mothers' Milk (11th ed.):
Adult metabolism of alcohol is approximately 1 oz in 3 hours, so that mothers who ingest alcohol in moderate amounts can generally return to breastfeeding as soon as they feel neurologically normal.

I am looking for more now.

In otherwords 1 to 2 drinks is fine, but have them right after you feed and don't feed again for 2 to 3 hours. So if you have a drink or 2 when he goes down and night and he sleeps for 3 or more hours, there is no harm at all. I have only have a beer a few times, but I always do it when she is down for the night, this way I know I have till at least 4 AM before I need to feed her again.

and dang it all i forgot most of the liquor stores in our state are closed on "holidays" which-so not cool-includes today. i'd have to drive like 40 min out of my way and wait in a 1 hour line if i took off right now, since it closes at 2pm today sad.gif shite!

oh well, i've got a bottle of kahlua especial that i can drink with milk, but i'd rather add vodka and coke to that! my all time fave. hopefully SIL will have some vodka at her house, since all we have besides the kahlua at our house is tequila left over from the wedding, YUCK!

My drink of choice for New Year's Eve (at least the last few years) has been vodka and Monster or vodka and Gatorade. My DH and I usually go out camping and ride our toys the New Year's week, so Gatorade and Monster is what we have readily available and it tastes gooood!

However, since I'm preggo this year, I will be stuck in my RV unable to ride this trip and not drinking a darn thing but water shots.gif

Have plenty of drinks for me ladies and be safe tonight!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
