Girls- I just had to share with you!

For Christmas, my mom and dad took my grandmothers hope chest that my mom was suposed to have, and refinished it and gave it to me! I was in tears. here is a pic!

Then... my mom gave me a swarovski AB necklace and matching braclet to wear on the wedding day! I LOVE swarovski and I can't wait to wear this!

AND!!! my mom gave me the blue garter that she wore on her wedding day, I didn't even know that she had it!

So, here is a question! Although I am super excited that I recieved these gifts, I was planning on wearing these chandalier earring w/ AB stones that a student of mine had made me..

But, now I am thinking that it will be too much bling? Should I get a more simple earring? What do you think?

And also, here is a pink flower that i bought to wear with my pink sash for the dress, I wanted to add some stones to the center, which my student made me a bunch to add, but I think that the flower may look to flat / that the stones are too much... any opinions are appreciated!

Here is a pic of my dress to help you try and picture the ensemble all together. Honest opinions please... Is it too much w/ the earring and the flower? Or is it ok? The ceremony will be on the beach.

OR... should I forgo the sash alltogther? that was a thought also!

AGH!

Much appreciation on your idea's!

I like the pink sash and I also like the AB crystals. My suggestion, use the chandelier earrings and use the bracelet from your mom, and maybe try to use the necklace as an anklet? as far as the flower, i have seen some nicer ones out there, i think as you said it looks a little flat. I hope that helps! BTW the dress looks gorgeous on you!

First of all, your dress looks amazing on you! It's perfect.

Second, the hope chest is such a nice present from your mom & dad. So much sentiment and thought was put into it. I love it!

Here are my opinions to your questions....

This is the first hair flower I've looked at so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I like it. It seems pretty simple, but elegant at the same time. I also think that the sash, the flower and the chandelier earrings would be to busy.

Could you wear the earrings your student gave you to your welcome dinner or another wedding-related event while you're on vacation? Then you could wear a simpler earring w/ the necklace and bracelet your mom gave you (I'm assuming she'll be there and may be a little hurt if you don't wear them?)

While the dress looks amazing with or without the sash, I kind of like it better without.

Anyway, good luck deciding what to do. I know these details can become very stressful!

Your dress is beautiful! That is awesome of your parents to give you the hope chest.

I think the chandelier earrings are pretty but to be honest I think if you wear them, they might take away from the whole package (you!) on your wedding day. I agree with pearlygirl and if you can wear them to another wedding related event then your student won't be hurt?

As far as the sash I like it both ways. What if you didn't wear it during the ceremony but put it on during the reception to add on a fun twist?

Good luck! I'm sure with whatever you decide you will be a gorgeous bride!!

I'm not a fan of the sash, but I don't see how else you could wear the flower.

Also, how are you going to wear your hair?
I love the flower also- I don't have the sash with me to put it on, but an idea was to tie it in the back rather than the front and the flower pinned to it where it met.

My hair, loose curls, tied back low, it is a bit longer now than in the pic. I wanted to put a flower in my hair, lower and behind my right ear.

Maybe I should just do that, and no sash?

OK - so I love the earrings also, but I don't want it to be too much, and If I have to choose, then I have to go with the necklace. My mom spent a lot of money on it and she really wants me to wear it on the wedding day itself. I guess I can find a simple pair to go with the necklace, and wear the chandalier earrings another day. Plus my student will not be in attendance! :)

Thank you for the assitance girls! It seems like most of you like my dress without the pink sash? I do like the idea of adding it during the reception I think!

And I do want to look bling, yet classic, not too much. so maybe just a flower in my hair. I think that I am on the road to figuring it out- sometimes you need an outside eye - thank you all! My mom and friends just think that everything looks wonderful and will not give me an honest opinion one way or another! LOL

The chest is amazing!!! What wonderful gifts!!

The dress is gorgeous; but I like it better plain without the sash. If you do forgo the sash, then you can get away with all the bling and the hair flower.

Although, IMHO - I wouldn't do ALL the jewelry at once. Maybe just the earrings and the bracelet with the hair flower or the necklace, hair flower and a small stud earring and wear the other jewelry to another wedding event.

Also, as far as hair flowers go, check out Etsy; they have amazing ones on there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
